Only I am in a position to judge Nibble's private life and can confirm he is a massive loser.

I think it best to end this debate.
Come off it - NSC's self-appointed film expert not having any discernible powers of judgement other than being drawn towards schlocky cheap manipulative emotion is what makes this place so GRATE.

haven't read any of this thread bar the last 2 pages but I would say memento is also one of my favourite movies. Also recently seen magnolia which gets a solid 8 from me.

I guess now is not the time to mention I've just finished all 10 hours of Krystof Kieslowski's Dekalog? Superb film-making and moving story telling (and much, much better than Three Colours...).

If there are any grumbles, it's that "One" is the best of the lot (9.3), which sets the bar and the expectations a little too high for the others to follow. But none of the 10 stories are anything less than "very good".

Taken Individually: ranging from 7.3--9.3.
Taken as a whole: 8.6

That's all: carry on with the Babe vs Memento slapdown...

Abort, retry, fail
Au Revoir Les Enfants. Brilliant beyond words. And all true too, based on the director's own experiences. 9.7

Marvellous news. I have this on loan from a friend and have been really looking forward to it. I now have great expectations, so hopefully it will fail to disappoint.

films i've seen recently
Love reign over me. Don cheadle was good as usual, but I was unsure on Sandler the movie had some good moments but was ultimately let down a bit by a weak ending. I don't even see why the fact 9/11 was brought into it, I guess they may of been trying to highlight the grief that family members of thos affected were going through. 6.8
There will be blood
have to say I didn't fancy this movie despite all the oscar hype etc what a performance from Day Lewis. paul thomas anderson kept the direction of the movie going somewhere, where we the viewer wasn't sure. A dark dark movie but beautiful all the same. 9.2

Office Space - a very underrated yet cracking little film. Some genuinely genius moments of comedy and a great feel to the whole film. Well done for reminding me. They have it in HMV for £3. I'm gonna pop out and get me some of that action!
