Rude questions?

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I'd never heard of SAG until I read that response on ATC. In order to head off this 'the club are against FCUM' stuff, it would be good to understand how it works and who is involved. Then we can all move on.

I don't know for certain but would guess that the SAG is made up of club representatives, senior stewards and Sussex Police reps. If they have made a mistake in catagorising this game as a C that's one thing, I personally think it is an overreaction. But to blame the board for heeding their advice and implying there's some conspiracy afoot is stretching it a bit.

*edit* - see Lord Bracknell's post on t'other thread as to who make up the SAG.

I thing there are a lot of dodgy conclusions being jumped to by fans of both teams.

Sorry mate but that smacks of half-arsed conspiracy theory twaddle. How is denying the club considerable extra revenue in their interests?

If FCUM had the full and proper allocation then they would take over the family stands, with the certain closure of the regular away end. Brighton fans would then only be able to buy tickets in the north and south stands.

I think it is far more preferable financially and logistically for the club to sell out the regular away end to FCUM and have the full compliment of stands i.e. south, north and the hugely popular family stand available for sale to Albion supporters.... for what is an attractive game.

Hopefully the club will provide details of the make up of the SAG and who ultimately makes the decision. If there is a conflict of interest with the composition of the board then people have a right to question decisions. COI is not good business practice.

Fair enough, I stand corrected. I still think the conspiracy angle is a red herring though. There is a short timescale to make these decisions and arrange ticket allocation. Bearing this in mind I think those who made the decision may have overreacted, but made the descision with good intentions. It's very easy to knock people who have to make these decisions, especially where safety is concerned. A large part of my job is to do similar for the comapny I work for in terms of Environmental Health & Safety, I can assure you that you're often placed in a no-win situation.

Sorry to disagree but surely there are certain decisions based on internal discussion with a business where the club are not answerable to every fan ?
