I presume Hyypia will take every player as he finds them and let everyone start with a clean slate - so if (big 'if', I know) Kemy knuckles down and decides he wants to play for the new guy, he should be given the chance to justify his vast wages.

One thing's for sure, he was virtually the only midfield player last season who looked long as well as short for a passing option. And since Hyypia spoke yesterday about trying to get a quicker transition from defence into attack, he's more likely to want a Kemy-type player than a Jake Forster-Caskey, whose game under Oscar seemed to become more limited in range and ambition by the week.

Obviously I'm happy for Sami to make up his mind. I just hope that he practices what he said when speaking to the media yesterday and only retains players who actually care. From what I've read, seen, witnessed I don't think Kemy fits that profile. As I said I suspect he'll be for the chop. And no one can convince me otherwise.

Forster-Caskey's game is definitely not as limited as Oscar's rigid role for him, made it seem.

He looked an entirely different player at the U-20 England tournament, given more scope to get forward, and to be creative.

New manager gives all the players a clean slate and a chance to prove themselves. Harsh post by the OP should give the lad a chance.

Up the albion, so you're basing the theory he's going to get it together on what?!? one or two moments of what exactly? 'good passing' ?!? As you say: NSC at it's finest.

Now now Kosh, I didn't say I had a theory on him getting it together, I merely pointed out that your facts aren't actually facts at all.

However I do feel that EVERY player starts afresh under new management and until such time as the new management make a decision 1 way or another I for one am happy enough at the moment :)

Ah there's the rub! At no point have I cried 'facts', as you stated conjecture etc. I merely expressed an opinion based on Hyypia, based on Kemy, based on last year. With Jones in the fold (again I suspect) it's going to be a long, long road to redemption for Kemy. One performance a season does not (surely?) justify expenditure on wages. Some facts for ya: He had no serious injury, he stated he was getting it together via the press, then he started training with the youth team and playing for the development squad... all the while earning huge a amount of money. It's a joke.

SO, you've formed an opinion based upon what? Things you've read that may not have any substance? Very few, if anyone here has any idea of the situation with Kemy, so none of us can really comment as to his 'application' - whether it is his attitude or just a clash of personality/style with Oscar.

Don't be one of those annoying, reactionary posters who makes unfounded claims. Surely you're better than that.

Grombleton, I am better than that! It's criminal how much money these 'professionals' earn, crminal. This is not a Barnes style attack on a player of (perhaps) limited ability who gave his all. This is an oberservation regarding my hard earned cash supporting this guy who performed once or twice last season. As I've stated, It's down to Hyypia - he'll decide, not some jumped up prick like me ay? I am however, confident, he'll reach the correct decision.

So let's just get rid?
I'd rather give the new manager a chance to get Kemy back to the sort of form and mental state that led him to representing the Dutch national team a few years back. The squad doesn't need more culling unless absolutely necessary.
That sums it up for me. New manager clean slate the ball is in his court lets hope he plays it well, if not then there is only 1 answer.

during the last year should be seen as disgusting and treated as a form of gross misconduct

Clearly not at the Reading game where he was outstanding and my MotM.

He proved himself to be exactly what the team was missing in the absence of Crofts.
For whatever reason, NONE OF US KNOW, it didn't work out last year, c'est la vie.

You have an incredibly low opinion of our general standard of play. If that was outstanding and a MOM performance.

He was ok against Reading and that was the best he'd played.

This is Kemy's chance. Fight for his place, make the effort, then suddenly it looks to the world like it was Oscar's problem all along. If he wants to play football for any half decent team, this is his chance now, and I'd rather he take it.

Think the OP has it totally wrong.
Sami will happily accept a creative central midfielder who has excellent positional sense even if others have to do their running, as long as they can play quick and incisive passes putting strikers into space.
Kemi can do that in spades but he wont become a different player than he has been all his career which is what Oscar (and maybe Jones) wanted.

Just had a look on Soccerbase at Kemy's stats for last season and indeed for his career. http://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=48342 and I am still in utter disbelief we ever bought this guy.

Last season he was involved in 14 matches, of which he managed to play 90 minutes ONCE and that was in the abject surrender to Newport County at the start of the season. By comparison "sicknote" Orlandi managed 18 appearances including 3 full games. Age 27 he has failed to hold a regular starting place in any team he has played for. He has a goal scoring record second to none, correction his goal scoring record reads none ! And don't get me started on his attitude.

I watched a fair bit of JFC and Solly in the U20 tournament on TV and it was interesting to see them compare to their peers. JFC looked a little out of his depth against a rather strong Brazilian side, but otherwise he acquitted himself quite well. Sure he focuses on his short passing, but his work rate is good, he looks stronger when playing his own age group, which suggests he can develop further. His 34 appearances last season eclipsed the combined total of the more illustrious pair above.

I think we have all had to accept that we are not going to buy our way out of this league, so the only option is to work with what we have and improve players. If Hyypia decides to focus his efforts on the "errant genius" that is Kemy, I believe he will be wasting his time. An improvement in JFC's passing range this season, however could be seen as an indicator of the coaching impact of the new backroom team.

Kemy has his chance and the ability, hopefully he shows his worth to Sami during pre-season.

The way the OP is banging on about him - you would think that Kemy shagged his partner.....

His example to our young pros, during the last year, should be seen as disgusting and treated as a form of gross misconduct. I find it interesting that if this guy was employed by a local authority, people would be clamouring for an investigation as to why he's only turned up for work three or four times in a year! and quite rightly asking why tax payers money is being wasted?!? Likewise I find it staggering that certain people feel it's acceptable to supplement this guys lifestyle, because he 'might' come good. It's frankly disgusting that he's calling himself a professional footballer, it's a case for the trade descriptions act. I resent paying money into his bank account, he's done nothing, he deserves nothing, he should get NOTHING.

Time for a lie down.

Kosh

THis must be a different Kemi than the one who comes down to the u7s and u8s academy training evenings and has time to talk to the kids about football. I accept his son is there too, but he spends time with the kids answering all the questions. He also was present (and again held a question and answer session on the pitch) when this age group were given the chance to play matches at the Amex and use the facilities. From talking to him he sounds very much like a player who was frustrated by things that we will never be told or understand.

Me personally i hope he gets a great pre-season under his belt and comes back to the team and shows us what he really can do.

Kemy once said in a 2001 interview with a Dutch TV station that he'd rather listen to Lil' Kim on his headphones prematch than Slovenian prog rock outfit 'Beedle and the Faery Dust' and I'm not all that convinced that Kosh ever forgave him.
