Barca getting Villa will make it even more likely Fabregas will leave.
Re Arsenal next season, I can't see how they will replace Fabregas with equal quality. And if Fabregas leaves it's arguably the case that Spurs have a better squad than Arsenal right now.
I don't see that Wenger has any choice other than to splash the cash. Spurs will buy big, so will City. Without a significant cash injection I can't see Arsenal challenging Chelsea or Utd in the League, or those 2 plus Real/Barca/Inter/Bayern for Champions League.
Given that Wenger doesn't put out a decent side in the League Cup he might only have the FA cup to play for.
you said City and Spurs will spend big, they'll get dragged into the 4th place race with about 5 other teams.
