Barca getting Villa will make it even more likely Fabregas will leave.

Re Arsenal next season, I can't see how they will replace Fabregas with equal quality. And if Fabregas leaves it's arguably the case that Spurs have a better squad than Arsenal right now.

I don't see that Wenger has any choice other than to splash the cash. Spurs will buy big, so will City. Without a significant cash injection I can't see Arsenal challenging Chelsea or Utd in the League, or those 2 plus Real/Barca/Inter/Bayern for Champions League.

Given that Wenger doesn't put out a decent side in the League Cup he might only have the FA cup to play for.

you said City and Spurs will spend big, they'll get dragged into the 4th place race with about 5 other teams.

I think its a shame for English football that another world class player wants to leave our fair shores.
And i hope Wenger does go out & buy the players Arsenal need to push for trophies again then show Cesc what he's missing when he joins Henry & Hleb getting splinters in his arse on the Barca bench

English clubs were dominating Champions League so teams like Madrid are spending big, therefore Barca have to spend big to complete with all of them.

Sadly, in some ways, the days when Wenger could compete at the highest level by sourcing unknown players seem to have disappeared. The players that make the difference at the highest level come with a price tag, be it Rooney, Drogba, Ronaldo, Messi, Villa, Torres or Ribery. And Wenger just isn't a big spender.

What? To play in a league that is even more uncompetative than Scotland? Valencia 3rd but almost 30 points adrift! And now Barca will be even stronger! All a bit pointless isn't it? Wow, look at me, I won the Spanish league in the best team ever assembled, what an achievement! Bet Barca could win the Spanish league even if they played me in the team week, in week out! But obviously he's not moving there for the huge addditional pay packet!

And Barcelona is overrated as a city!

I think the European Cup (or whatever its called now) will be of more interest to him than the Spanish league, as well as playing for his home town club.
