After all the ups and downs, rough patches mid-season, injuries still too many and still dropping points against weaker teams when we shouldn’t- but what a really cracking end to the season! Back to back convincing wins leaves me feeling, as we head for the summer break, high hopes for next season.

Great stats against all the Big 6/7 Clubs and improved performances from Gruda, Hinshelwood, Ayari, Weiffer, Minteh and Rutter this season with other youngsters waiting to rejoin from loans or move up into the senior squad (eg Howell). Even if we loose Mitoma and Baleba ( which I hope we don’t), I think FH has made real strides towards becoming a top Premier League manager making the most of the players he has at his disposal as well as showing he can come up with a plan B time and time again.

A good first season - see you in 2025/26 Fab.

How would others sum up Hürzeler as a replacement for RDZ ?
Do you still think we should bin him?
Are you still on the FENCE?

People wanted him sacked :lolol:
Maybe they just needed time to adjust

Tbf - FH’s ’system’ was unfathomable to many and we dropped some really stupid points from poor game management and poor cohesion amongst players - primarily caused by so many summer signings and injuries making it difficult to develop partnerships.

I didn’t agree with those wanting FH out or thinking he couldn’t handle the PL but can completely understand why many folk were panicking/losing faith in ’the process’.

The big frustration for me this season has been our lack of consistency - hopefully that is something that will improve next season.

We weren’t consistent up to the very end of the season. Off it first half. Destroyed them second. We are a BRILLIANT side when we’re at it.

Interesting stat

Brighton have had six Premier League goals both scored and assisted by substitutes this season, including their winner over Liverpool last time out (Hinshelwood assisted by O’Riley). In the competition’s history, no side has ever had more goals both scored and assisted by subs in a single campaign.
And I think Mitoma gets an assist for Gomez's goal today - taking us to seven.

I’ve been critical of FH numerous times this season, but there is no doubt he is on a steep learning curve and has really adapted, particularly recently.

Really excited for season 2.

The team spirit and ability to make substitutions at the right time is exceptional.

Your two last sentences sums it up perfectly for me - I think it shows a good tactical brain and humility to accept one’s game plan needs modifying.

1 - Different, more studied temperament. No knee slides from FB, but that doesn't make him any less invested in the club.
2 - Don't be daft - anyone who said so during this season, really should give their collective heads a wobble.
3 - I firmly believe a manager/coach should be given the time to implement their style of play and prove their worth, being judged over at least a whole season, and not snap-shots of half a dozen results, good or bad. Our second highest points total and position says to me that he is doing a good job. No fence here!

Could have sworn Mitoma was pointing to himself as if to say, I set that up.
