Looking at the league table, it passed me by somewhat that we've only lost 9 games in the Premier League this season. Considering we've had some defensively fragile moments and almost never had a consistent back 4, that's a heck of a result.

Even if we lose at Spurs, 10 games is still better than any of our previous PL seasons, with only 9 in the promotion season and an astounding 5 (!) the season before bettering it in the Amex-era. We had 6 in the Adams/Taylor season which was a remarkable achievement for a newly promoted side over 46 matches.

We've also won 15 so far (RDZ was best with 18 in the EL qualifying season). Not bad for a first season. Turn some of those draws into wins and we'll all be happy. Well... Except some

Of course RdZ only won 14 (out of 32) in the 22/23 season (Potter winning 4 out of 6).
Roberto also lost 11 out of 32 in that fantastic season.

You can cut the stats many different ways.

The thing I noticed this morning is that our goals for and against are almost identical to Spurs...

Yet we've converted those goals scored and conceded into 20 more points.

Of course, but it’s that conceded stat, even if Forest was a 0-3 rather than 7, it’s still not good enough.

It is not just injuries, it is as much about poor defensive structure, Baleba and Wieffer proved that if you can get basic shape right, most players can revert into other positions. I just find it incredibly frustrating….

Put a different way, to be conceding but still not losing is a really positive thing, so if we can just sort out a few bits next season will be very exciting….

Only Liverpool and Arsenal have lost fewer. I’ll settle for this.

This is very much where I’m at. I’m also really hoping we play Baleba and Wieffer in central midfield….they will crush every midfield in its path .

Brighton have had six Premier League goals both scored and assisted by substitutes this season, including their winner over Liverpool last time out (Hinshelwood assisted by O’Riley). In the competition’s history, no side has ever had more goals both scored and assisted by subs in a single campaign.

It’s a fairly simple fix we aren’t pressing correctly when we have the ball and it must be his instructions. There is to big of a gap behind the midfielder press and the defensive line that gets exploited. In other words we aren’t pressing as a unit. Under RDZ WBG covered the area in front of the defence superbly he had the ability to play the ball out when under pressure he was doing the same for Napoli the other night. We are relying on Baleba running back and making last ditch tackles far to often.

The only problem with your analysis is that we conceded 62 goals last season, which is 4 more than we have conceded so far this season. So I am not sure Wee Billie was that helpful in stopping the goals.
