Imho realising that our defence is substandard, he went for it creatively. Early-ish subs and the right subs, he put out a balanced team despite the injuries.

Yep - who‘d have thought two of the most surprisingly effective Brighton players on the pitch today would have been 2 midfielders playing CH and RB? I honestly thought he would take off Wieffer and bring on Veltman though. Subbing March was a probably a given but the game was going to be won or lost for us in the wide areas today with Potter hogging the central midfield so bringing on two fresh wingers at 60 minutes (or so) definitely the right game plan. I’d have brought on Velts at HT, but only FH knew his actual fitness levels. Wieffer was playing so well generally, it might’ve been a case of moving him to CM.

Definitely a point on the board today for Fab - who got it right (just about) against the 17th placed team.
Had we lost though, which very nearly happened if it wasn't for our stars Mitoma and Baleba, then it would have been the final nail in the coffin for him.
He probably needs to go, and will go, at the end of this season, barring a genius final run that sends us into Europe.
But, credit where it's due, he picked a team that could win it today, despite our defensive crisis.

Fantastic from FH tonight, and luck with him with only Rutter and possibly Ferdi missing. I much prefer Welbeck to Pedro.
And in ya face high press for 90 minutes, everyone brutally effective in tackling. Why can’t we do that against the likes of Palarse? Low block teams?
MOTM … Minteh in contention, although Tsimikas is poor. Welbeck, Webster, JPVH, Baleba also outstanding both halves.
Interesting transfer window ahead, will TB fight to keep the best players, will he deliver first team quality reinforcements to cover for absenses?

Just got back to the hotel - frickin end to end football at it’s best. I think the team and all Fab’s work this season has pulled together.
Watching from the middle-West, the flowing football and intensity that Fab has been asking for was a real plaesure to watch. Ok not a great first half but the second half we looked like our old selves.
Gruda, Baleba, Wieffer, (Hinsh and Mitoma off the bench) and Ayari were so impressive. O’Riley didn’t do too bad but he and Adingra still the weak links for me.
Welbz had a slight off night but overall, one of the most enjoyable matches this season after Bournemouth at home.
Hűrzeler’s subs were bang on right at timely.
)Met some really nice Liverpool fans on the train too.)
After Saturday, I said (eventually!) that a good match tonight would be the best healing balm and it was.
That’s my attending season done. I started cycling to games, I think it was from the Liverpool league cup game, hooked to that now. Can stay until final whistle and Freed From Desire, then no tedious queuing.

Just imagine them time warping back to the Amex 11 years ago and trying to convince those angry fans walking out of another Hyypiä shit show that they are a 'passionate' fan from the future and have been campaigning for most of the season to get our manager out, the manager who beat Man Utd, Spurs, Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea at home?
They'd be shown up for the precious, emotional, reactionary lunatics that they are! What a game!
Hopefully that's the end of this absurd bunch but you just know that we're only a draw away with a bottom 10 to them rearing their loud but reckless heads again.
