It appears in the American Heritage Dictionary of the English language:

Also in the OED.

First known appearance in writing is from 1612.

Also appears to have been in decline since sometime around the Battle of Waterloo.

F*** me.

I thought I was good at English.

But a 31* year old German, a GERMAN, has taught me a new word in English - convincement. He used it a number of times in his pre-match presser.
I just assumed it was a made up word. But it isn't. It really exists.

*31. The youngest PL manager/head coach ever. You heard it here first.
Ha. I just watched that and thought the same. In fact I thought what a fantastic word he'd just made up.

Blimey, young Fab can't put a foot wrong at the moment.
Him and Georginio are both a breath of fresh air in our club.

Not only are we avoiding dickheads, but we seem to be loading up with people who others want to be around.
Massively impressive.

Not sure if the Pep presser posted above was intentional but this is Fabi’s in case anyone missed it yesterday

Hard to fault Hürzeler for this result imo - lots of individual errors and poor finishing from us in the second half - the goal took the wind out of our sails.

It was unfortunate that Veltman was out tonight.

I think our tactics were fine but persistent fouling from Stains just disrupted the flow enough to gain the upper hand.

And he (hopefully) recognised that Van Hecke at right back doesn’t work.

Defo should have been 3 up at half time poor finishing and unlucky here and there.
I think the Baleba red card also made a big difference v Bournemouth as it was an unjust suspension. He can cover so much ground and Dibbing who was fantastic would have had a much tougher time leading those counter attacks.

Hürzeler:

‘We didn’t deserve more than a point’

“It is still too early in the season, and we shouldn't focus on the results but more on the performances. Today was not our best performance. We have to be honest to ourselves that this can't be our identity, this can't be our style of play. And our home fans, we have to apologise for the second half and we have to be very critical with ourselves.”

In other words, it’s time to shake the inconsistency that’s typecast us ever since we’ve been in the PL.

Good interview on the Albion ws today with FH - We have ‘ambitions’!

Small excerpt:

“We lost at Liverpool but played brilliantly in the first half. Could you be pleased in any way despite the result?

No, I can't accept this and I don't want anyone in the club accepting this – we should never accept playing a good game and losing. Football is about getting results, so I don't want to be getting compliments for playing well but having nothing to show for it. If you do accept this way of thinking then you start hiding behind your ambitions and this is a club that has ambitions, the owner has ambitions and everyone in the club wants to achieve something. When you lose, even if you have played well, you should always stand there and say, ‘We can't be happy – how can we learn from this.”
