I read that the organisers have put glue around certain parts of the stadium structure as well in an effort to keep the sand off the track. Surely they're fighting a losing battle though - they're never going to keep all the sand away, specially if its windy. Could be quite amusing if the cars start conking out all over the place as their highly tuned engines get clogged with sand.

What with that and the fact that alcohol is banned, meaning the traditional champagne shower on the podium will be replaced with a fruit juice made out of "local fruits, trinj and pomegranate combined with rosewater" and the whole thing sounds like it could be one of the most bizarre Grand Prix ever. Christ, it certainly needs SOMETHING to perk it up.

Typical.....If Bernie pulls his finger out and implements sensible rules we would have one hell of a spectacle, like removing the one engine rule...
