such a shit league.

.

Well, no. It's clearly not is it.

The whole idea of a league format is for the best teams to be top. Thats why its a league.

In Italy there is one team who can win it. Juve.
In spain two teams can win it.
In Scotland only one team has a chance.
In France, PSG will romp it.

Here, you could ask 30 people who will win the league and probably get a quite even split between Chelsea, Utd and City. Maybe even some people may say someone like Arsenal.

You then have a battle for relegation every year which normally comes down to the last game.

Last years title came down to the last kick of the ball.

Teams such as Liverpool get beaten by West Brom. Everton beat United.
Southampton were 2-1 up at City. City came back two weeks in a row to win 3-2.

Middling teams like Swansea play exciting, expansive football against teams like Stoke who play proper, old fashioned long ball.

How EXACTLY is that a 'shit' league.,

Also Reading and Southampton occupying the bottom 2 spots!

Liverpool are the hilarious anomaly...

One thing for certain is that LFC will not be fighting for the top 4!
Probably won't get relegated either, but in the PL you never know.

There have been 5 different winners in France in the past 5 years. And PSG will not romp it - they are already 6 points behind Marseille!

Surely the main reason the Championship is so competitive compared to the Premier League is that we lose the best three teams (well best two and another good team) each year. If Man U, Man City and Arsenal had all been promoted last year the Premier League would be wide open.

Does that make it a strong league or a poor one. A good league or a bad one. Different winners are not representative of quality.

The Premier League was won on goal difference last year, one point a couple of years before that, a couple of points before that. There have been many tight races to win it. And the relegation battle is always intense, every season.

Doubt it. Spent a ridic amount last season and didn't. Also 6 points behind this season already.

But they've backed that up with more quality this summer.

Marseille have won their first 5 so the 6 points is not that much of a relection on anything really. Also PSG dropped their points in the first 2 games. Their last 3 has seen them draw at Bordeaux, win at Lille (difficult) and win at home to Toulouse.

PSG will romp it after December.

Who really cares about the premiership? I only give a toss about the division that Brighton are in. If we go up then the premiership will become an interest to me.

The football on offer in the premier league is among the best in the world. The money draws in the talent, as does the reputation of the top teams (even if it means talent coming in at a "lesser" team to get their foot in the premier league door and get noticed by the big boys). As far as the quality of football and entertainment of matches is concerned, it is a very good league.

As far as the Premier League title is concerned, it isn't particularly intriguing a question most years. Last year was quite dramatic, but most years the start of the season you can narrow it down to 4 teams. By christmas this is often down to two, and I can't remember a year when one of them wasn't Man Utd. My March, the race is usually effectively over.

So, it comes down to how do you judge the league? By the matches that take place in it over the season, or who wins it?
