Don’t know if this is the best thread to post this amazing snippet in, but someone asked Maupay on one of his game streams about xG. And he said in a pissed off matter of fact way: “xG?? xG is bullshit”.

A stat that shows he's been rubbish in front of goal this season, and he thinks the stat is rubbish. Colour me unsurprised.

Having said that: hopefully he doesn't need the stat to know and understand that he's not been good enough this season when it comes to putting away chances. Hopefully he knows and understands he needs to do better. Hopefully it's not a case of dismissing the stat because he's got his head stuck in the sand and thinks he's doing good enough...
