This pair have put on 61 at 4.5 per over as they tuck in to the old ball. Graeme Swann is beginning to be missed very badly, not having a top class spinner is an impediment.

That has turned out to be a very good day for England, and captain Cook, including a hat-trick for Stuart Broad, and 5 for 64 for Liam Plunkett.

Hopefully tomorrow he and Robson can push on and make big runs.
