I see this is the first time England have given 3 debuts in consecutive tests since 1921. I just hope that the revolving door policy from the late 80s/early 90s does not make a comeback and they stick with some of these players.

Oops... Jayawardene managed to hang on to that one. Robson following a wide one from Pradeep.

both openers done on a full length….Cook is playing so far back in his crease he may as well be keeping.

Cook is so mentally fried as a guy now, remember when he was like an immovable wall at the crease?

Oh well, the shit storm continues eh.

Ballance gone for 23... 74-3

Another caught behind off Pradeep.

Bit of a nothing shot... stretching outside off to a ball going away from him.... disappointing.

Lunch on Day One... the game is moving on at a good pace despite Sri Lanka only bowling 25 overs in the session... run rate of 3.92 from England, and 3 wickets for Sri Lanka.

England 98-3 (25 overs)
