Often when a lower order batsman has scored some runs, it seems as though they carry that momentum on when they are given the ball as one of the opening bowlers. That seems to have been the case with Broad in this spell.

Wow, what a session and turn around for Stuart Broad. We've always known in conditions like this, that we have the best bowling attack around. The question still remains as to whether we can do it when the ball isn't really swinging. However, you can't really question this performance. What an amazing morning if you went to Lord's!

This just reinforces the current management style within the England set-up. Even when players go through bad patches, there's now not the knee-jerk reaction to make changes. Stability breeds success.

The number if people who have slated him when he went through a lean period, calling for him to be dropped were wrong IMO.
He's even done well in non seaming conditions around the world.
