So, presumably Gerrard and Lampard will be given free rein to roam upfield with Carrick filling in the gap behind them. With our striker options now severely limited this would seem a good solution, it also gives extra cover for the back four.

Hasn't been too impressive in the past two games. Hargreaves is a perfectly capable right-back.

i think that will be the side.
Carragher for me has defended well but his distribution is awful, on top of that Carrick keeps the ball better which is something we have to do more of.
I personally think its a big ask of Rooney to play up top on his own when he hasnt played 90 mins, but with the striking options as they are i dont think he has another option.
Id really like Darren Bent running the channels or a sharp defoe in the squad at this time !

I think these last few games Fatty has looked a lot more uneasier between the sticks than James, I am fully aware that I am the only person in the entire country (including his family) that wants David James to play, but I honestly think he is a better goalie, much more mobile and he actually comunicates with his defence, something Robinson is brilliant at for Spurs, but cant seem to do for England.

Wrong midfielder has been dropped/moved.
Lampard does not deserve to be in the startin 11 and Beckham is getting less deserving with every passing game.
