At the timeof voting, I think I've just evened it up between Gerrard and Campbell (by voting Gerrard). But I would have no probs with Campbell taking the armband either.

Beckham has done a job, but its time to have some VOCAL leadership on the field. If Becks isn't involved - which was the case for this entire Championship - we effectively have no captain. Gerrard is the driving force, and should be given the armband now.
