Beckham should resign as captain today.
He isn't vocal enough, and he doesn't drive the team on the pitch (step forward DC !!)
By taking all the free kicks and corners he takes away any concept of variation in attack - and so simply by watching videos the opposition always knows what to expect from him and how to counter it (eg the Penalty against France).
His vanity seems to be his priority, and is evident when he poses for the camera before each kick.
To his credit, he tried to set the standard by taking the first penalty last night - which turned out to be the worst penalty I've seen in a very long time.....did he look pissed off when he missed (did he Feck!)
....and on the subject of penalties, why was Vassell penalty taker number 7? He obviously didn't want it at all - as his body language (and the kick) proved.
