Pretty much this unfortunately. Speaking to a couple of Ipswich fans and, while they haven't been able to see too much of him because of the injury, it's the same story as here - primarily shooting at every opportunity. Hope the penny drops eventually and he fulfils his immense talent, rather than just having the occasional spectacular goal to show for his efforts. Maybe he's just trying too hard to impress.

Needs to take a look at Gomez and stop being an emotional dickhead.
It is still highly valued and perhaps the main reason Julio Enciso isn't playing for Brighton: one goal per 50+ shots isn't good enough.

While Enciso undeniably needs to work on his decision making and reducing his quantity of shots, he is an incredibly gifted ball striker - probably the best in our squad. It’s a pretty rare talent - even amongst elite players - to hit the ball as cleanly and as powerfully as he does.
How he harnesses that talent is another matter. When he finds himself in those pockets of space outside the penalty area, the opposition need to be fearful of both his shooting and his vision/execution of pass.
It’s a valuable skill that he possesses, it just needs to be refined in its approach.

I'd say the chances of Julio Enciso playing for Brighton next season is maybe 1%.
Pretty much all of our attacking players has accomplished more this season alone than Enciso has in three years.
Getting rid of Enciso and Fergie rather than trying to keep them "happy" was a very good move, the team and squad is too strong for players who aren't able to perform in the PL.
Will be very difficult to sell him in the summer though. Clubs don't want to pay money for players who don't work hard, don't score goals and don't show any desire to learn and improve their game.

I think what you're missing is there very high potential, you cant comment on his desire to learn and improve because you don't know him. Also his progress has been hampered a fair bit by injuries. But he is still young and has time to work on his game. If he can improve his decision making in the final third he is potentially an elite player, he's a game changer/match winner when he gets it right. He's still one of my favourite current Brighton players as you don't see players as exciting as him very often, his unpredictability is unfortunately one of his biggest strengths and weaknesses.
It's a big if, but if we are patient with him the payoff could be massive. I would love to see him sign a new contract and continue his development with us. But if he doesn't want to I would be sad to see him probably go in the summer
The game he got injured he put in 2 perfect assists for Solly , and I thought - finally we are going to see what he's got. But on his return he was back to his shooting ways
I've seen his potential. He's had three years with the club to take that potential and turn it into something but if you watch the games from when he first came and then watch Ipswich.. nothing - at best - has happened.
We've been patient and got very little in return for that patience. Aaron Connolly had a better goal scoring record for Brighton and no one asked him to stay for a fourth season. It will be the same with Enciso in that regard: we're a good Premier League club, not some Sunderland, so the Jozy Altidores of today doesn't get to stick around.
People get "excited" by long shots in general but this is the Premier League, not some MLS half-time show.
Hopefully he can raise his game wherever he goes next.

They do have trackers but they aren’t in their shirt collars. They wear a vest with the tracker in. Joel Veltman accidentally gave his to a fan with his shirt at an away game last season which led to an appeal for its return. The chap happily returned it, met Joel and got a tour of the training ground.

You're comparing a strikers goal scoring record with an attacking midfielders and yes he's had 3 years but he was out injured nearly a year in the middle of that time period, just when he was starting to show some real form. So 2 years of football with a year out of the game in between isn't actually that much time.
Write him off you want, but players like Enciso are what make football enjoyable, pressing systems and running stats are not why I watch but each to their own I guess.
Yeah, I heard a lot of this in December and January about how enjoyable it is to watch Enciso shoot from distance.
Personally I get more joy and excitement out of winning and scoring goals than from missed long shots, so I'm quite happy with how things have developed.
There's surely a bit of room for all of it. It's nice to get accurate shots off when there are no better options or a clear chance. He just does it too much.
But he is also a catalyst, certainly in his first season. Changing rhe pace and directness of attacks too which was often welcome and the thing most people refer to about excitement. When the game is plodding and we are going nowhere.
The negative side of that and for me his biggest crime is holding on to the ball for too long, hoping for a break for himself and missing a million passing opportunities.

He isn't going to get the playing time he needs with us.
Which is a shame.

And this is where we differ, I will watch and rewatch Enciso's goal against man city because it is spectacular. I do enjoy wins but the memorable moments in football for me are the ones that get you out of your seat and say wow.
A lot more people would watch a highlights video of Le Tissier than Makelele, but Makelele would win you more matches
I'm happy with how things have developed too, and if the club feel we are a level above him then so be it. But seeing less players like Enciso valued in the game is a sad thing
I wonder if it's a British game issue. I don't know enough about foreign leagues know whether there is more space for a player like him there. A bit of a maverick. The British game is so systemic, it kind of squeezes out players like that.
Fair enough. I'm happy for you that some old goal from Enciso, or maybe the Roberto Carlos free kick or the Seedorf banger does as much or more for you as a win for Brighton. I'm slightly jealous.
Huh? Le Tissier scored 100 Prem goals from MIDFIELD, in 280 games. He was the absolute embodiment of a match winner. Ensico is light years from him in almost every measure.

It’s not just that, literally every action they take on the pitch is also tracked and coded (and very easily sorted, filtered and able to be played back to them) - it’s forensic.
