Enciso never given the run of games Minteh has had, i thought whenever he played Enciso was adding something different. Trying to create, yes he's desperate to score everytime he plays but i love that about him. I really hope he's back next season (alongside Facundo) but i worry we'll never see him play for us again. 😢

Minteh doesn't have much competition in his position though, whereas Julio has Pedro and Rutter.

Yes and just where are West Ham, Ipswich and Leicester in the League? Yes at the bottom. If Enciso was so much talent he wouldn't have ended up at Ipswich on loan where he has hardly transformed their season.
So, out of our £200M summer splurge, which of O'Riley, Wieffer, Gruda and Minteh are giving us an upgrade on Enciso and Facu (and WBG and Gross for that matter)?

I made exactly that point yesterday.

I am not saying we wasted £200m but I havn’t seen an upgrade on what we had

On stats Minteh is. He's got more goals and assists per game for us than FB and JE. Played 31, scored 6, assisted 5, compared with FB 50, 5, 2 and JE 57, 5 & 6. He's also contributed more defensively and is a natural right winger, which neither of the other two are. They'd be competing for a starting place with Rutter who has played 32, scored 8, assisted 4 for Brighton.

This is not a criticism of either. Considering their ages, they are both excelling. Facundo's stats are now better because he did well for Leicester under Cooper. He chose to go on loan because he wanted to start games. Until the manager change at Leicester that was looking like a good decision. Enciso made the same decision in January, because he wasn't getting minutes ahead of Welbeck, Rutter, Mitoma, Adingra and Pedro, not any of the players on your list. His record in recent matches after getting a decent run of games make this look like a good decision. Whether or not he wants to stay, he looks like coming back a better player than he looked in the first half of this season.

I think there's the nub. Apart from Rutter, who seems to have come good, the only people standing in the way of Enciso and Buonanotte were players already here, not our trenche of expensive newbies.

I think O'Riley is coming good and has more potential than Enciso, not sure how he compares to Buonanotte yet.

The fact Enciso has not kicked on is a failure of the management, club and player. It’s a shame a player with such potential has been reduced to being loaned out to relegation fodder, and it’s poor all round. I think the club/fabian should have managed this situation so much better, but the player also did himself no favours.

Either way Enciso and Facu weren't going to get the minutes they wanted were they:shrug:

Enciso never given the run of games Minteh has had
Between 15/03/2023 and 19/08/2023, Enciso played 16 PL games in a row - 4 goals, 3 assists

Between 29/11/2024 and 15/03/2025, Minteh played 17 PL games in a row - 4 goals, 2 assists

Basically the same record
