Great stuff.

I can see her emulating the feat of the other Canadian tennis great Greg Rusedski and making it all the way to the final.

I’ll see your canucks and raise you South African duo Virginia Wade and Cameron Norrie plus Hungarian Aussie Johanna Konta.

Not going to debate this on such a great & positive thread.

So I'll just rephrase - in the context of sport, race has absolutely no relevance whatsoever*

My point is that having a British Asian sporting role model is rare, and welcome. My son never watches tennis, but has been watching all her matches. My kids are seeing someone "like them" winning and being likeable. It's important

Not with a surname like hers I wouldn’t have thought.

Oh it was just mentioned that her Father was from Romania [emoji1745]

Edit

Raducanu was born on 13 November 2002 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to a Romanian father and a Chinese mother

She has a phenomenally confident mindset and says herself that she is fearless and believes she can achieve anything. Atypical compared to your average 18 year old.

And yet she had to withdraw from Wimbledon. Why was that?

So yaboo sucks to Piers Morgan!

Well done to her, and I hope she has support from her team to help her with the added pressure of success.
