It DOMINATES the view which would otherwise just be dull duel carriageway with an ugly as sin University as the only distraction.

I too drove past it yesterday and I almost shed a tear.

Did not realise you could see the universities, raquets club and a27 from across the downs near Woodingdean !!

I think that from a distance such as Stamner park, when the first arch was up but the cranes weren't here, it looked so natural!

Went really close to it thursday night or really early friday monring, stood and looked and it just slots in to the landscape, because its dug in rather than standing up like a blimp.

Fancy all those lovely old uni buildings having to be bulldozed, and the view of the dual carriageway and all the traffic is just ruined now!

My bus was diveted via moulsecoomb, because of the bike ride, and you can see the West Stand Arch from the bus as it comes down the hill to it's terminus. It looks so near!
