Maybe we can alter the design so it looks like some concrete pre-fab from the 60's?

Stop work guys-we've got a few alterations to make!

A listed one, like that carbuncle of a University?

That there are a lot of hypocrites on here!!

Wow.

Wookie thinks it is out of keeping with its surroundings. A lot of people on here thinks it enhances the area. You and Wookie think if it was used for something else those same people would be against it. I do not think you are correct.

Read into that what you will.

This is just a personal opinion, I actually am quite surprised at the size of teh place. I thought from the presentations etc that it was going to be sunk a lot further down so the eye line to the downs was not that affected.

Don't get me wrong, I am not unhappy with the stadium, far from it, I think it is incredible, I am just surprised with the size of it.

I suppose in a way I can understand the point of view of the Falmer residents now, where before I couldn't at all and assumed they were wholly over reacting to something that was going to be out of sight anyway

As my missus says, bigger the better!

Just far enough away from LDC
I had a look the other day at the initial video that showed the stadium site from the bridge over the a27 (the one that showed it materialising with fatboy Slim's 'right here, right now' paying the background) and I think the proportions are in line with what was shown then (perhaps the west stand is slightly higher by a floor).

As the land and previous buildings on the site could be seen from ditchling beacon, it's not unusual that the stadium itself can be seen from there.

There were also visuals of the stadium from Hollingbury golf course and other sites used at the second public inquiry and then show at the hove town hall demos that seem fairly representative of how it is now. I know at the first public inquiry there were comments made that the visuals were not fully accurate and the club had to raise a crane (courtesy of adenstar) on the site to show the real height and so for the second hearing, improved visuals were produced that passed the test.

That was the point I was trying to make - and I bet there are loads of people on here who are thinking the very same but are too scared to say anything

I bow to your superior knowledge on that one Ade, I hadn't seen the second enquiry videos so to be honest I can't comment.

I think like everyone you can't help but be impressed by it when you drive past.

I hope you will be asked to do the stadium tours once its open again!

I bloody love it. To me its the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.
(apart for Charlize Theron in Æon Flux where she wears that really tight outfit)
