Poor misunderstood 4D chess grand master Donny’s genius has finally seen a positive impact on the US economy and all it’s taken is some judges questioning the legality of what he’s done.

The rancid wotsit is off to the Supreme Court tomorrow in an effort to grab the power that he thinks he's entitled to. He stuffed that court full of sympathetic souls during his last term of office. Will they back him now? It would be f***ing hilarious if they didn't!
It would definitely be another very big woops-a-daisy if they didn’t back him 😂 It is by no means certain they will either.

It seemed justices arguing for Trump were in part relying on emergency powers legislation to claim Trump had a right to introduce broad, sweeping and open-ended tariffs. Conversely, the Court of International Trade argued that that same legislation, (used by Nixon) decided in US v Yoshida were not meant to be over 15% nor a permanent policy solution for trade imbalance.

There are other arguments for and against too but I get the feeling, even the conservative Justices on SCOTUS are tiring of being dragged into so much political controversy by Trump and will circle the wagons at some point and defend the reputation of the Court, legal Precedent and the Rule of Law.

Background to the legal arguments here if anyone wants to bore themself with a long read!

from the commentry i heard, prepare your popcorn, view is they're likely to agree with the court. a matter of law not a lot of leeway for interpretation.

IIRC Trumpy argued that the fentanyl (that Americans seem to want for some reason) and illegal migration (build that wall!!) were the emergencies
If the judges decide that the president can act without congress in 'emergency' situations - will the administration then have to prove it was an emergency do you think? It's a two-pronged thing in my view.
