From Quora:

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! INTRODUCING THE REAL DONALD TRUMP!

I am not talking about the Trump doing the old white man dance onstage at a rally before stepping up to the podium and singing the same tired song over and over. You know, the one that goes “I am great, and everyone is mean to me”? Yeah, that one. I am not talking about the Trump that avoids debates but loves showing up for softball interviews on conservative media. And I am not talking about the Trump that grabs his phone in the middle of the night or during a long BM to spout hate and insults. Those Trumps can seem like an in-control tough guy, maybe just a bit larger-than-life.

main-qimg-cbc22d13c6b53bd22c89b52889db2b3e

But there is another Donald Trump, one only seen by those close to him in time and space, those who are related to him and those who work with him and for him. The man they know and describe is very different.

Maryanne Trump Barry, Trump’s late sister and a retired federal judge: “Donald is out for Donald, period.” “Donald is cruel.” “You can’t trust him.” “He has no principles. None.” “The lack of preparation. The lying. Holy sh*t.”

Mary L. Trump, Trump’s niece and a psychologist said it all in the title of her book: “Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man”:

Mike Pence, Trump’s Vice President: “The American people deserve to know that President Trump asked me to put him over my oath to the Constitution. … Anyone who puts himself over the Constitution should never be president of the United States.”

John Kelly, retired Marine General and Trump’s longest serving Chief of Staff: “A person that has nothing but contempt for our democratic institutions, our Constitution, and the rule of law. There is nothing more that can be said. God help us.”

Rex Tillerson, Trump’s first Secretary of State: “(Trump’s) understanding of global events, his understanding of global history, his understanding of US history was really limited. It’s really hard to have a conversation with someone who doesn’t even understand the concept for why we’re talking about this.”

John Bolton, Trump’s 3rd National Security Advisor: “I believe (foreign leaders) think he is a laughing fool.”

Anthony Scaramucci, Trump’s communications director: “He is the domestic terrorist of the 21st century.”

Mark Esper, Trump’s 2nd Secretary of Defense: “I think he’s unfit for office. … He puts himself before country. His actions are all about him and not about the country. And then, of course, I believe he has integrity and character issues as well.”

Michael Cohen, Trump’s personal lawyer and long-time confidante and fixer: “Donald’s an idiot.”

I know. These people are not to be trusted yet Trump trusted all of them at one time or is related to them. So either they are not so bad or Trump is a terrible judge of people that he picked to work in the government.

Oops 😂

Thank goodness the checks and balances on the powers of the Executive are still working.

Double oops 😂

’You ask a nasty question like that?”

Trump's response to the ruling is questioning why someone who is unelected should have a say. @Albion my Albion quoted people who knew him and it describes his contempt for the law. Let's hope it catches up with him sooner rather than later.

Congress / Court of International Trade.

What’s tw@t going to do … an armed assault on the court members?
a proper politican would be putting a bill through congress to grant the power or create some office that does. they'd also have started off with that, or at least doing so in the background so this wouldn't be a problem. of course Trump isn't a proper politican, finding out there's another thing he cant do (like so many EO this time round) because no one advising him honestly. it is fascinating as they have passed the budget that depends on this revenue without apparently including powers to raise the revenue.

Trump questioning why the federal Courts should rule on the limits of Executive action? Ha ha - Doesn’t need explaining to us though does it! It’s obvious why he is responding the way he is - he responds like that to anyone or anything that attempts to limit his ill conceived notion that the POTUS has absolute authority.

I tend to skim past all the numerous cut and pasted MSM paragraphs tbh so not sure what quotes you are referring to but as I said, fortunately the powers of the Executive are not as unfettered as Trump would like.

He is discovering that the principal of ‘ultra vires’ applies to him.

Not passed by the Senate though and, almost certainly, won't be without major changes. Several MAGA Republicans have said they will vote against it as it stands.

I figured this out a few weeks ago via ChatGPT FFS.

He/they potentially knew this would happen though and that it provides him another reason to go after unelected deepstate woke judges though...

Larry Hoover, former Chicago gang leader, has prison sentence commuted by Trump

The commutation, first reported by the news website NOTUS, was confirmed by a White House official speaking on the condition of anonymity because it had not been formally announced.

Hoover was imprisoned in connection with a murder in 1973, and he was convicted of running a criminal enterprise in 1998. He later renounced his criminal past and petitioned for a reduced sentence.

But his release from federal custody isn’t freedom. Hoover must return to Illinois to serve out his 200-year sentence for murder. The Department of Corrections website already lists him as an inmate in Dixon, but it’s unclear if he’s been moved.

Trump likes to help those with the same kind of criminal past as himself.

:ROFLMAO: wow, that's an informative website you've linked to. Bible bashing, homosexuality obsessed American 'historian'. Passes for 'research' in Trumpland I guess.
Leave it out, it's not easy still supporting trump, you have to really dig for that shit.

point being in their hubris, knowing there's a court case challenging it, they haven't concerned themselves with changing the law to deliver the tariffs. i've found it odd not much said on this, because without the tariffs the budget cant balance, but the tariffs arent even set yet.

apparently there are other routes to try, though will probably open up new legal challenges. in the meantime Trump paints this as undemocratic judges acting beyond their authority.

and if the Democrats were competent they'd be shouting loud and clear that's the point of judges, to ensure the law is followed and that's the difference between federal republic and despotic monarch their founding fathers sought to avoid.

Yes...and what I (anyone?) don't know about the Democrats is whether many of them ARE shouting loudly but the American press (many outlets desperately trying to stay out of Trump's firing line IMO) don't/won't report it.
There are a few Democrat Senators who have spoken out recently: in Congress, on Jake Broe Interview, Rest is Politics Interview (IIRC), but indeed as you say it's all a bit deafening silence. Is it just the different system? we have our Prime Minister Questions where the oppo can try and hammer points home and our press generally report it as said...the US doesn't. It has parliamentary groups/commissions bashing away at discrete issues (e.g. Signal gate) but it's not a daily thing.
