One of my pet hates.

People who litter should be knee-capped, although I appreciate this would mean they have no way of walking what is normally a short distance to the nearest bin, but I be they'll wish they had in the first place!

Strap the bin to them. Force them to carry their own and others' rubbish about for a bit - that'd learn 'em.

That's not unlike seeing somebody using their mobile when driving, both are illegal but would you report them ?

The police, in the neck of the woods where I work, are too busy with operation Trident to worry about chicken bones and fag packets tossed out of car windows.

Thank Christ I live 40 miles away from this shithole and dross that infests it.

No problem. Someone else will doubtless take it home for you on their shoe.
Exactly.
EVERYONES a winner :)

I will hold my hand up to chucking the odd apple core out of my car window...on the premise that it will either be eaten by a bird or that the seed will go on to produce a tree and thus provide more food for other animals.
So when I slam into a tree thats suddenly sprouted up along the A272, I'll know who to blame.

Yes, but at least you can have an apple to eat while waiting for the tow truck!!!

in edinburgh there is a bin every ten paces pretty much.. here there just isn't enough. my house in hanover i can't take bin bags out the back cos they get torn up by seagulls foxes and rats, and every tuesday morning when it's picked up there is litter strewn everywhere, it is filthy and obviously the bin men don't pick up the loose bits. it is DISGUSTING.

Littering is one of my pet hates also. In fact as a geeky swatty member of the school council I suggested and organised a SPONSORED LITTER PICK UP. Starting from various points around Crawley, people picked litter up and put them in bin liners and then DUMPED them in the bandstand in Queens Square to show all the Saturday shoppers just how much LAZY AND SENSELESS LITTERING was happening in their town. And it raised money for charidee.

The most infuriating thing to me is that it takes little or no effort to hang onto the litter until you find a bin or to just put the stuff in a supermarket bag in your car and put it in the bin when you get home.

How hard can it be to NOT litter and how much nicer would places like central Brighton and the beach be?

I have seen people chuck litter down when they are right next to a bin.Putting it in a bin would not even cross some of these pieces of excrement's minds.

There's a fair number of kids on my bus who eat there 'breakfast' (those awful smelling Wotsits) and just throw the rubbish down. There's one older girl who's always preaching about the enviornment yet she does it too.

And then there's the drinks bottles that roll about the bus all day.

It's just laziness.
