I would rather the game was abandoned and both teams expelled from taking part next season thus allowing an extra UEFA spot to be up for grabs. Well, one can dream. We need Villa to beat Man Utd to go above Chelsea, and we need a point at Spurs to ensure 8th.
Therefore what result best helps us tonight? Two outcomes:
Man Utd win, they get pissed up and don't care about playing Villa on Sunday. This also decimates Spurs and they don't turn up on Sunday.
Man Utd lose, they fall apart as they've done all season and don't care about playing Villa on Sunday. But Spurs get pissed up and are still drunk when we play them Sunday, or their confidence returns and they play like the Champions League qualifiers that they now are.
Obviously it's a given we want a draining extra time and penalties regardless of the outcome.
I think overall for us we want a Man Utd win? But I wouldn't ever say that out loud.
