Just back from a meeting in which I met the former head of the Football League. I was talking to him about being an Albion fan, and he said, without any prompting

"The two best chairmen in the Championship are the guy at Crewe and also Dick Knight. These two are not rich men, but have put their heart and soul into the club as well as a few quid.

Just compare them to the likes of Rupert Lowe, on £600k a year at Southampton, with Clive Woodward on an equally big wedge, and Simon Jordan, who is (pardon my language) a complete TWAT"

Barrel of Fun

Abort, retry, fail
:clap2: :clap2: Woodward paid £750k a year.

We complain about our board being slow, but they have a hell of a lot more to deal with thatn most/all boards in the football league.

Dick. I love Dick!! ( )

Well, we are from Brighton.

Personally, I'm more of an animal lover. Here Sooty, Sooty, Sooty.

Much respect to our chairman, however.

I hope all the ARS 'fans' read this, no doubt they will come back with their usual banal tripe.

Something wrong with stringed glasses?
Some of us are just at the cutting edge of fashion.
You'll find out one day, as you get older your arms get shorter and you can't hold things far enough away to read them :D

Worthing
Its easier being a great chairman when you are potless. You keep faith with whoever because its the cheaper option and you get plaudits from those who value loyalty so much.
I think Knights ok but you dont think all these players would get extensions to their contracts if Dick had a few mill to invest in the playing side. They would be out on their ear and others bought in but because we are broke we show ``loyalty``
There is something reassuring though in having a chairman who actually cares about the club and not just using it as an ego trip like some do.

We are still technically in the Championship as the season does not end until the play-offs are over.

He is that. And we're laughing our way to another season in the Championship, which will be our fourth on the trot.
