Trot, what and appropriate word. Still not 'As big as Real Madrid' yet are you ?

It was bigger than Barcelona. And, at the moment, we're struggling to be bigger than Burnley. But never mind, we've still got places like St Andrews, the Hawthorns, the Stadium of Light, Molineux, the Walkers Stadium, St Mary's, etc, to visit again next year.

Such a shame that Birmingham City, WBA, Sunderland, Wolves, Leicester and Southampton have to put up with a trip to Ninian Park.

There's nothing wrong with Rotherham, you know.

ermmm ... hold on.

Their fans won't mind. They are big clubs. They'll turn up here in big numbers. They usually do. Many seem to enjoy the terrace.

Yeovil for you next season. There's a novelty.

It's ok, if Swansea stay down then we will be able to travel to TWO places where marrying your sister is still legal

Marrying your sister isn't legal in Swansea, it's compulsory.

Players who played for Swansea years ago get a special welcome here, never mind their current team.

Rest assured he will be dealt with accordingly if the Jacks manage to get through the final (and fingers crossed they don't).

Just back from a meeting in which I met the former head of the Football League. I was talking to him about being an Albion fan, and he said, without any prompting

"The two best chairmen in the Championship are the guy at Crewe and also Dick Knight. These two are not rich men, but have put their heart and soul into the club as well as a few quid.

Just compare them to the likes of Rupert Lowe, on £600k a year at Southampton, with Clive Woodward on an equally big wedge, and Simon Jordan, who is (pardon my language) a complete TWAT"

What sort of prat is the guy? The two "best" Chairmen in the Championship? Both now Chair Ex-Championship clubs after leading them to relegation! Wonderful! :lolol:

I'd rather have someone like Ken Bates. He may be considered a c*nt by some, but always gets success.

That probably explains why he is the former head of the league and not the present.

Ken Bates bankrupted Chelsea, and was also responsible for the original Wembley stadium fiasco that had to be abandoned.

How many Prem titles did Chelsea win under him by the way?

Chelsea owed millions until a Russian in a helicopter passed ovehead.

Their debt was absolutely frightening.

From the BBC at the time

Abramovic will buy Bates' 51% stake in Chelsea Village for £29.6m

Russian businessman will take on club's estimated £80m debt

Remaining shares of 35p each value the club at an estimated £59.3m

Weeks before the takeover there were many stories in the press up here that Chelsea were in danger of going under.

He has put very little of his money into Leeds, they were WELL out of trouble when he took the chair... (Starry correct me if I'm wrong)

I'm sure I've had this conversation with you before :lolol:

True to form.

I guess he was judging them on clubs surviving financially, against the odds. Perhaps that is beyond you BG.

Not everyone should be measured on the size of their wallet.

But it was nowhere near as big as it is now. And neither were their annual losses.

As for Bates, according to this report Peter Lorimer thinks he's doing a good job. And you'd assume he should know.

Debts get written off with a change in ownership. It pisses me off! Was it Cardiff pleading the PFA to pay their wages, despite Hamman making millions from his stint at Wimbledon?
