Bloody hell, how many times must it be said? If it wasn't for Uncle Dick's personality being like this there is no way he would have been able to save the club.

I know you weren't really paying much attention to the Albion at the time, Brett, but back in 1995 he had to spend hours locked in a room listening to Archer talking crap. You need massive egotism to survive that.

So enlighten us all, what exactly happened ??

Maybe you should enlighten us? After all, you always seem to know more than the rest when it comes to Dick Knight and The Albion.

Which bit is difficult for you-not seeing hordes of Billionaires fighting to take control or a serious offer being made for the club? An offer that doesn't allow 1 person to take full control of the club. If you have evidence of either of the above happening and it has been kept secret from us I'm sure we'd all love to learn the truth.

What exactly shit has he put up with .... ??

I will accept that he has fought, many times losing the fight for survival, however it now seems that we have secured the new stadium. maybe !!

He loves every god damn minute of it .....

He is generally revered by most on here and no more so than himself !!

Without the struggle he would be the one person he would hate to be and thats the unknown marketing bloke.

But he has assumed the role of marketing guru and many suck up to him, fine, but never feel too sorry for self appointed saviours.

Maybe you'd like to put your money where your mouth is and collect together a consortium to take over ? I guess you'll probably have to re-mortgage your house ( assuming you have one ) but at least you'll be able to prove to us Dick Lickers how to run a club !

I never said I didnt like the bloke, I even said I admired him for everything he has done for the club and I cant thank him enough for that.

I was just saying he likes to blow his own trumpet, which I think is funny

Back in 1995 I probably wasnt paying that much attention about everything that was going on the club. But as a 14 year old boy at the time, in my 7th season of supporting the Albion, I only knew what the media told me, and Knight wasnt really mentioned much.

Fair play to you if you knew loads about the Albion as, a what a 10/11 year old?? back then in 95 when Mr Knight was locked in said room with Mr Archer

Yeah I am off right now to do it ...........

Just like Stanley and Archer did, so unless you are willing to put together a consortium your views are to be dismissed eh .......

I bet you were the cheerleaders for the above consortium before they shafted us ............

I am not saying that the present board wish to shaft us by the way.

:eek::eek::thud::thud:

In respect of the crowd has remained supportive. He is generally well thought of by most of Albions followers.

Death threats & personal attacks that some previous owners have had is the 'shit' I was alluding to.

He has had to deal with problems and I am glad it seems that he has overcome them and he is looking forward to day of triumph, good luck to him.

But he as many successful men enjoy the trials and tribulations and the back slapping, in part its what they do it for.

But the thread was acknowledging his ego, its there no doubt fully intact.

Oh I see! My apologies. And when did you first notice this? When he was out on the pitch taking a round of applause at the end of any season ever, or when he was thanking "my fans" on Sky after the play-off final, praps?

Don't forget to start a new thread on it every time you notice. I love the way this one has developed into yet another fascinating "I hate Dick Knight" catherine wheel of tedious idiocy.

Your talents are wasted on here.

Yes the round of applause, the half time speeches, I dont know about the "my fans" bit on Sky as I was at the game, and didnt see the coverage on TV.

When have I said I hate Dick Knight?? I don't, as I said before, I even put that in my opening post.

I apologise for starting a thread, and I will ask your permission to start another one, should I feel I want to.

It was a mere observation I was just pointing out, but as you knew what was was going on in 95, when you werent even a teenager, I doff my hat to you and your superior knowledge, good day x

I don't think anyone can claim Uncle Dick has never done anything wrong since becoming the 'one man' in control of the club, not even his most ardent of supporters.

Well spoken Uncle S. Dick will go down on record as the clubs best ever chairman, way in front of second in the running Mike Bamber, If a statue of Dick is unveiled at Falmer then I will be at the ceremony to pay my respects
