Why oh why is he now flavour of the month?
I'm sure he's a good coach at youth level, and we are using a lot of his charges from last season through necessity. But to look at the larger picture, will he do any better than MM in attracting the famous missing target man that we have craved for the last 2 years,or,any senior players that will be needed to sustain a promotion challenge, thus getting bums on seats, then Falmer, then shut the nimbys up,who must be laughing at the goings on!
Let's face it , we only beat a shit team on Saturday....

I'm gonna give him time, as I was prepared to do so with McGhee.

That said, I really can't see him having many contacts in the game, to help bring in any loanees.

On a train...
Dean Wilkins seems to be the opposite to Magoo. He has passion and emotion. Just take a look at this interview on Seagulls World after the game.

Im not sure about Wilkins. When fraser came on .. i thought , oh near he were go with Wwilkins favourites . . .but I was wrong,

Remember Hinshelwood won his 1st game though !

If he can get us buzzing for next 6 ish games I will be happy with him , but given the choice , I'd still plump for a name / proven

MM needed a big target man -who says that Wilkins does? Depends how his teams play football surely? He may want to play with pace up front rather than power.

Remember, our best spell last season was at the beginning of the season when Knight & Robinson were playing together

I would like to see Wilkins getting the job BUT I think he needs a bit more experience first.
Would only like to see him as manager as a last resort

There is only one way to gain experience blood him, after all that what we are doing with the whole squad now.

Come on Deano i have faith that he will learn by any mistakes and thats what important to me.

Keep the Faith.

The Brighton job must be one of the most difficult in football because too many fans refuse to recognise the awful reality of our money situation, so he if he wants to take that on, he will need a lot more of the good fortune he had on Saturday.

His first game was a big plus, he did everything he could tactically to turn us into a team hard to beat. What we need to see now is whether he can get the players passing as well as they have in earlier games this season, because that was almost entirely absent from Saturday's game.

Erm for a start he cares, and shows passion. Can't remember Mcghee doing that.

I think he did twice - shouting at a fan behind the dugout and swearing at andrew hawes.

Neither helped the team.

Hither (sometimes Thither)
Wilkins will attach the venture of artistry and vision, i like to think. He got the best from youngsters and propelled them past the bland expectations of the last many decades. So he can take them again and those around them to something that may please fans and players alike.
We all know the difficulties. That's incredibly boring to state. But what one person does to improve others with the very strength they fail to recognise should be tried at least. If he fails he leaves. No one can be hurt as we have nothing and crave little more.

If anyone remembers the Wilkins interview after the play off final in 1991, you will understand the passion and emotion he has for our club.

Give the guy a chnace, he has no experience of managing a league team, but he has bought the best out of the youngsters in his charge, half of whom are now in the first team, so he knows their strengths and weaknesses and they know and respect him. But above all, more than any manager I can remember (Catlin apart maybe) he loves the club.
