I suspect the problem is that he's not cheap, rather than not good or not popular.

Interesting link on that Bbc news article - that he's writing a British muppet show. That would be brilliant!

This will end in tears I fear. He is witty, original and very clever but he does shoot from the hip from time to time and as such he may have peed off the bosses to the extent that the saturday show may be axed too or Danny will stomp off to Talkcrap. Either way his loss from the airwaves is a disaster.

Let's hope if he does go elsewhere it's to Absolute Radio and not the above mentioned horror.

Seems a shame, although I don't listen to his BBC London show.

Back in the day when I worked at Gatwick however I used to regularly tune in to his BBC London breakfast show which was great value, much like his current Radio 5 show which I download each week for the car.

Presumably he won't keep his R5 show and will soon be found on another network. As long as I can still get podcasts of the show I don't mind

DB has never been slow to let on how much he despises commercial radio.

It'll be interesting to see what he does now.
He has no money put away for a rainy day, Absolute and Talkspite will both be offering big bucks.

I will certainly miss him as I am often working in London. His show was always entertaining and seemed really popular.
However, his autobiography will be arriving automatically on my kindle next week, I cant wait, It should be a good read.
