You can afford those kind of contracts with the ridiculous 4 year parachute payments though. They are not mental, the system is.

@npowertransfers: Blackburn are offering West Brom striker Simon Cox a stunning £30,000-a-week deal to drop into the Championship.

Ridiculous.

Just Heard from a West Brom fan on this:

'Looking like the Cox deal for him to go to Blackburn is about to fall at the last hurdle though Celtic and Charlton both interested in him too!'

Amazing! OK, he is good, but a bit of a knob... why so much demand!?

What makes you think he is "a bit of a knob"? And what makes you think he is demanding £30,000 a week? Who is to say that wasn't what Blackburn offered. Very presumptuous on your behalf there.

From Twitter:

"Confirmed by the very reliable chrislepkowski Swansea have asked about Simon Cox but no offer, Blackburn have bid £2m"

He was an arrogant tw@t who had a tendency to throw his toys out of the pram when things went against him... you obviously weren't concentrating when he played for Swindon at Withdean... of course, he may have grown up a bit...

I am, however, happy to concede the £30k figure could be bollox...

:lolol: Trust me when I say I absolutely WAS concentrating. Our performance when he scored (as did Greer...) in the 3-2 Swindon win at Withdean was absolutely turgid in every respect, I am not fully over it.
It's probably nonsense, but the sad thing is... You never know. If they're happy to pay it, he's entitled to ask for it. Don't hate the player, hate the game.
