Hove, f***ing ACTUALLY.
Faldo you are not a geek, I think anyone working around aviation aspires to be involved with Concorde, when I worked at Heathrow there was always a bit of down time at 11-00 to see the old girl take to the skies, It was amazing how BA management would tolerate that 10 minutes or so sciving, but contrived in every other way to make you work longer hours for less money !!

Ive worked in aviation since university and was very lucky to fly to New York a few times a bit like yourself on BA staff travel, never did the return journey, but its still is the highlight of my life and will probably remain so.

Farewell concorde, you have given me hours of sciving off time down the years, and inspired me in my own fledgeling flying career !

Anyway, as someone said earlier its only a plane, and Air France got rid of Concorde ages ago. Don't remember the French going on about it.

Some plane matey.

Air France stopped flying two months ago and there were huge crowds at Toulouse to witness its final flight back to its birthplace.

Even my four year old daughter knows it's something special and we all watched it fly over our village last night on its approach to Heathrow for probably the last time:nono:

They did fall out of love with Concorde. The French were not making any money from it and the french company Airbus are they ones making it impossible to keep it running.

We might just see what the public think of Concorde later today.

I understand that the police think West London will come to a stanstill with Concorde fans massing for a last look.

There are already spotters on the flyovers over the M25 west of Heathrow - which is fascinating because planes are currently landing from the east:dunce: :lolol:

Concorde is an incredible piece of engineering, regardless of cost there will always be people mad/rich enough to use it.

People still fly Spitfires . . . .so expect to see a Concorde at an airshow near you !!!

Yep while out in the sticks this unique plane was above the head and a beauty it was.

Very sad day and a fleet of real gems is a waste:nono:

Three personal accounts of Concorde.

1. Cleaning 002 asa Sea Cadet at HMS Heron, Yeovilton. All us Cadets got to see every aspect of the aircraft.

2. Looking towards Dover Castle son 7 or 8 years ago, when nearing the finishing of my training. Both a Concorde and Spitfire flying together.

3. The last sighting was horrible. Comming ot of Selhurst last season. I smiled then got pushed by one of the Mets finest telling me to move on.

What is freightening is that Britan does not really produce that much machinery any more, and possbly Conorde, is one of the last peices of great engineering that has been made. After all we now only make parts for machinery rather than their whole, or what we make as a whole is owned by our foreign competitors.
