You don't think that there should be a separate 2 week long Paralympics then?

I guess that the Commonwealth games have shown that the Para-Sport events don't need to be held separately - in answer to your question it is not so much about not having a separate Paralympic games but improving the Olympic games by including the Para-Sport athletes. Obviously if this were done there would be no need for a Paralympics.

There is absolutely no way you could squeeze all of the Paralympic events into an Olympic programme; there just wouldn't be enough hours in a day.

The commonwealth games are featuring only a small fraction of the para sport events: 22 in total. Where as the Paralympics has over 500.

You are probably right - it still seems a shame that the events can't be integrated rather than segregated.

Coincidentally enough, they've just run an article on BBC breakfast about the integration of para sport at the commonwealth games - they must've been reacting to discussion NSC! Even Dame Tanni said that it'd be a logistical impossibility to integrate the Olympics and Paralympics.

What time would you consider a sprinter has to run the 100m in to be considered world class ?

Sub 10 for the 100m. There has been around 60 sprinters running sub 10 all time.

That said Adam is a better 200m runner and has run sub 20 putting 2nd in the all time GB list. At 20 there's still a lot left to come in both 100 and 200.

If Para-sports integrated, why don't the medals appear on the table?

Oops. They do

edit. Not sure they are no.

Interesting fact that the only white man to go under 10seconds is Lemaitre although the Pole Woronin did 10 exactly. Interesting to hear Michael Johnsons take on the reasons why.

So there are only 11 world class 100m runners around at the moment. Don't buy into that.
The guy to watch is the lad who has just come second at the world juniors Trayvon Bromell. Already been under 10 and just over it by a few hundredths quite a few times. Get your pound on him for Brazil.

And I recognise that username:thumbsup:
