Brighton / Hove actually
Pressure is on him to kickstart his career. Will be interesting if he can get the ballance between playing for the team and playing for himself. He needs to make goals and take goals.

Sounds promising in saying he's 'agreed' a move to Brighton. Although I'm always weary that other clubs catch on to this sort of thing and try to poach the player before he's actually signed. The article also says he would be competing with Murray for a place in the team, but Baldock will obviously be the main player standing in his way

Brighton - In your face
To be honest I don't really care what we could do for him and his career, as 'a good team that creates plenty of chances'. In fact I often wonder what the strikers in the under 23s and Academy think of a kid from Arsenal waltzing in to a first team opportunity.

I want to know is he good enough for us RIGHT NOW?

A players success is usually symbiotic.

Signing as competition for Glenn Murray for the main striking berth?

I was at the Chelsea press conference today with the former blogger who wrote that story and on the train back to central London too so, as he knows I'm an Albion fan, he could have asked me where I thought Akpom might play. But not everyone cares about getting facts straight.

ALBION ADD ARSENAL STRIKER ON LOAN

Brighton & Hove Albion have added Chuba Akpom on loan until the end of the season, with the 21-year-old striker joining from Arsenal.

Akpom passed his medical at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre earlier this evening and will link up with his new teammates for training tomorrow morning, ahead of Thursday's trip to Huddersfield.

Manager Chris Hughton commented, "As soon as we allowed Elvis Manu to go out on loan we knew we wanted to add to the forward area, so we are delighted to bring in someone of Chuba’s calibre.

“He is a young talent who gained valuable experience with Hull in the Championship last season, will give us really good pace in the forward areas and complement the other strikers at the club.

“We fought off competition from other clubs to sign Chuba, and we would like to thank Arsenal for the opportunity of working with him for the rest of the season.”

The American Express Community Stadium has already proved a happy hunting ground for Akpom, with four goals in his first two appearances there, for Arsenal and England at under-21 level.

He fired a hat-trick for Arsenal's under-21s in a 4-0 win over Albion in December 2014, and followed that with a goal for England at the same level in the 3-1 win over Switzerland the following November.

Akpom has previously been on loan with Hull City, where he helped the Tigers win promotion last season with seven goals from 22 starts - and has also had brief loan spells with Brentford, Coventry City and Nottingham Forest.

Highly regarded at Arsenal, he has made one start and nine sub appearances for Arsene Wenger in the senior side, featuring in the Premier League, FA Cup and EFL Cup.

Born in Canning Town, Akpom has been with the Gunners since the age of six. He's also represented England at every age level from under-15, scoring three goals in four games for Gareth Southgate at under-21 level.
