The amount of clubs who seem to be posting on other peoples message boards, going to parliment, handing out buckets and generally pleading for their lives seems to be growing season by season. Some of them are in genuine DEEP SH8t others are jsut a few bob short and think relegation to Div 1 is the equivilant of playing in the Ryman league.
Well forgive me for the following but........

I think its fair to say that in recent seasons we were the first club to be taken to the brink of disaster by "poor ownership".. And the club as, and is still suffering to this day. any regular reader of these boards wil know I attend most away games.
During the seasons that followed our punishment I have had the unpleasent treatmant of being sneered at, sung at, had brown envelopes waved at me and on occasion even spit at..my retaliation will not be repeated on here..
Clubs like Brighton are begging for a new ground, its going to the top af every government ladder it can, but by god I hope and pray that it fails at every turn and that they cease to be a league club (I have my reasons). I have sympathy with clubs like Wrexham but thats all, sympathy, not a penny of mine will leave my pocket for them. We led the way in turning round disaster with nothing but the coins in our pockets, and all we got for it was BILE!!!
Clubs like Leeds, Barnsley, Sheff Wed`, Bradford and soon to be added Notts Forest , who just a couple of years ago couldn`t have given a monkeys toss wether teams like Chesterfiled survived or not make me want to vomit.
So I`m sorry if these views upset anyone but I`ve seen too many "cry wolf" hardship stories and had to much venom spewed at m

Thoughts...?

Seems like they're still very bitter to me. They, as far as I'm aware, didn't acknowledge any wrong doing by their board during that season.

However, were we blinkered by the rivalry that had been building before these revelations came to light? Should we have shown support when another clubs fans were in need?

Thoughts comparing this to Wrexham and Leeds?

The actions of his club had far-reaching implications for other clubs - including non-payment of matchday expenses and transfer fees. Chestefield's actions almost put other clubs out of existence. Yet not one word will pass his lips about his club's behaviour.

To go what him and his club has gone through is NOTHING compared to what we have gone through. He wishes upon us the ultimate action - to go out of existence. Did we ever wish that upon Chesterfield? No.

He sounds like an extremely spiteful, extremely bitter and extremely sad individual with no sense of reasoning. f*** him.

I am totally sure he does not represent the views of the majority of the Chesterfield fans. However, in the unlikely event that he does, then it is club which does not deserve to move forward.

I don't think at any point they were in danger of going bust. They just tried to cut a few corners and got caught. I for one do not like to see any club going under and will do what I can to help.

I feel sorry for the guy because he must have had a few bad moments, but so have other clubs. So he wants us to go out of business that's his choice. For everyone that feels like him there are a lot more that want to see us get Falmer.

Aren't Wrexham going through exactly the same thing that you were 8 years ago?
Yes, even worse than us tbh.

But that bloke's just a cock. For crying out loud, his team cheated and got off VERY VERY lightly. If they've been in read hardship, like us, like Wrexham, like Donny, then why don't they make a meal of it? Sounds to me like his grapes are still very sour.

I am still bitter about their 92nd minute winner at their place in 2000

I have to laugh at their attitude.

"Ooh, everyone was weally horrid to us when we was in trouble. So I want everyone to go bust now. That'll show 'em!"

That pathetic non-entity of a football club with its fanbase of arrogant tossers and brain dead neanderthals deserve the mediocraty that they are doomed to.

They CHEATED in 2000/2001. They ripped off other clubs by witholding gate money, tampered with player contracts and should NEVER have been allowed promotion.

I'd almost entirely forgotten about the Cheats...amazing really. Good times back then, beating them fair and square. And it's brilliant to see they still can't digest that fact.

Actually, the brown envelopes during that match would probably be worth a mention in the "strangest game" thread, Danny's goal at al notwithstanding. Every time they had a corner (which wasn't often) they had some Brightonian GOON waving an envelope at them - scenes which were truly marvellous.

Are there any piccies of that massive brown envelope anywhere? That was ACES.

Can you tell that other Chesterfield fans he's a twat as well then?

I do have sympathy for other clubs' fans being shat on by their club's directors, but Chesterfield's behaviour was unique. The board's actions detrimentally affected other clubs. Are the Chesterfield fans not going to recognise this, or are they going to go on forever defending those actions?

Falmer, soon...
I do kind of have some sympathy with the guy, being spat at would probably upset me too.

It's worth remembering that our protest wasn't against the fans of Chesterfield it was against the club management and the players. Once individuals get treated in that way it crosses the line and becomes a personal slur. I think that's really quite sad.

However, anyone who wants any football club to go out of business despite obvious provocation, is in my opinion, not worthy of being called a football fan.
