Also I'm not sure 2 teams playing equally shite football is a triumph.

Benitez = Dour moaner
Mourinho = Entertainer

Gerrard = Sour faced git
Lampard = Amazing athelete

Drogba = non stop target man with quality
Bellamy = punchy, egotistical nutter with a putter

Terry = Local hero
Pennant = Pissed up moron

Liverpool fans = Moaning scousers with ahoumour bypass
Chelsea fans = Stuck by them despite years of shit.

Les, again in this thread, that is poor.

Benitez does not moan, certainly not when compared to Mourinho.
You can't call Gerrard sour faced and not Lampard, that's just wrong.
Then you pick and choose your players to compare the Chelsea players you like with the Liverpool players you don't. At least Pavilionaire used players in the same position!
The best bit, undoubtedly though, is the bit about Chelsea fans. Chelsea have probably the most plastic fans in the country!

Really Les, must try harder. D- :dunce:

You have missed my point

I don't always agree with the content of my posts, it is more a culling of a variety of opinions to emphasise that it is just as easy to make a contradictary argument based on your own agenda.

All this takes away from the two main reasons why people hate Chelsea;

a) Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal are the accepted elite
b) Jealousy that Chelsea were taken over by someone with that much money

Mourinho WAS entertaining but now after his personal falling out with Abramovich, the Ballack / Shevchenko situation being foisted on him and missing out on 2 big trophies, he is sounding negative, bitter, sour etc and the record definitely needs changing.

Don't get me wrong, he is a great manager but not a particularly likeable bloke.

As for Chelsea fans "sticking by them despite years of shit" I have never seen fans come out of the woodwork like they've done since Abramovich and his millions arrived.

Really? Kids at my school started supporting Blackburn in the 90s when they won the league. This is secondary school and I can't imagine the connections they had with a small part of lancashire.

Just because United, Liverpool and Arsenal had built up their plastic fanbase over longer periods of time at different epochs does that make it any better?

No, it doesn't.

Wise words. Arguably the most fickle support in the country. Even worse than us.

Liverpool haven't won the league for 17 years. Have their crowds gone down? No, they haven't.

Chelsea's crowds dipped massively in the late 70s and early 80s, and I can't recall seeing too many Chelsea shirts walking down the street in the 80s or 90s.

Maybe fans from outside Liverpool and Manchester support the Reds and United partly because they've won European trophies and generally done England proud. Sir Matt Busby, Sir Alex Ferguson, Shankley, Paisley, Fagan and Benitez have all been excellent ambassadors for their clubs.

There is nothing appealing about the way in which Chelsea go about their business, on or off the pitch.

But Les, it was you that bought up the Chelsea fans!!! No-one said 'I hate Chelsea because of their plastic fans'; you said (whether you believed it or not) that Chelsea fans were good because they have stuck with the team through years of being average. Nobody tried to argue your point. What Pavilionaire said was that your initial point was wrong.

Last night's result was a football triumph. Just contrast the two clubs:

Benitez = Shrewd, dignified
Mourinho = Sulky, sour grapes merchant

Gerrard = Winner
Lampard = Loser

Kuyt = Penalty hero
Shevchenko = "In it for the money" big time Charlie

Carragher = Local hero
Terry = Greedy "9 year contract plus management clauses" kunt.

Liverpool fans = Quality supporters
Chelsea Fans = Where were you when you were shit?

Liverpool are a class act, Chelsea have no class whatsover.

ooh, i like that.

My point was you could make that argument.

My family support Chelsea, lots of my Dads mates support Chelsea, I have mates who support Chelsea, lots of these people consistently went to Stamford Bridge while the team were shite, even I did.

I'm not trying to stick up for Chelsea here, I'm just saying that Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal are just as bad.
