Maybe Swearing Thug Rooney is a better choice.

No no, Wozza has spoken, the thuggishness of Rooney doesn't count.

Someone once being overweight does though apparently.

It's not just the money factor with Chelsea, because it is true that the "big four" have all spent a lot of money. What REALLY gets on my nerves about Chelsea is this arrogant mentality they seem to have. They think they can do whatever they want, whenever a decision goes against them, there is a conspiracy because all referees hate Chelsea. This makes people think that when they do win things, it is "against all odds", therefore making it seem a greater achievement. Don't get me wrong, Man U, Arse and 'Pool also moan about refereeing decisions, but they don't start making ridiculous assumptions.
And Chelsea have spent quite a bit more than the other 3

:lolol: I was just wondering when Wozza would stop debating and make either a sarcy comment or use the thud smilie.

Of course its a reason to dislike him. He is treating the passion of thousands of fans as a business with which to make money. Greed at the potential expense of others hopes and dreams.

I'm not saying I like him. But - again - in my book, he's not an extra reason to dislike Manchester United.

How did United win it without breaking sweat when Arsenal won it 2 of the 3 years immeadiately before Chelsea won it?!?

Aresnal peaked and did really well for a short spell, but their subsequent wane was nothing to do with Chelsea's rise. It was down to losing Viera, etc and not replacing them adequately.

Spin it how you like, but the Premiership era has been totally dominated to a ridiculous extent by one club. And its not Chelsea.

Without Chelsea's recent emergence, it is very likely that United would have won 11 of the last 14 titles! That would make us as ridiculous a league as the SPL.

I don't think so, Arsenal would have won 2004-05 for a start, they finished above United and had a strong close to the season.

And in 05/06, Liverpool were only a point behind United.

Think what it could all boil down to, and the man I dislike the most is Peter Kenyon. Obviously very good at his job, with Utd through their dominance and now Chelsea with theirs. An odious and goblin like little man who I despise with a passion, but none the less still seems to be good at his job.

My original point was that the rise of Chelsea has not made the Premiership any less predictable. The argument that Arsenal did well for a spell and then faded does nothing to support your argument that the Premiership is now less predictable.

Oh, and as for the general hate of the top 4, I only really hate Chelsea; while Abramovich is a major factor in my hatred, they don't help themselves with their at times farcical PR campaign (whoever decided to allow Kenyon to be a spokesperson for the club should be sacked), and the seige mentality and arrogance of their manager (who argues normally bereft of any evidence that the referees are against them, they are hard done by in the media, they have a thin squad, etc etc) and some others (primarily again Kenyon).

I have a bit of a dislike of Arsenal due to Arsene Wengers myopia when it comes to reasons for his teams failings and any decisions that go his teams way. I used to dislike Alex Ferguson, but his banter and mind games I now don't mind as he has been made to look a lot less ridiculous by Jose Mourinho. But in general I am fairly ambivilent about the rest of the top four, as they are nowhere near as bad as Chelsea in the areas I highlight above.

The point is that at no stage has the Premiership ever been contested [realistically] by more than two clubs. United/Leeds. United/Liverpool. United/Blackburn. United/Newcastle for a few seconds. United/Arsenal. United/Chelsea.

Chelsea are just the latest club to fight for dominance with United. the only difference being that they actually seriously threatened to become bigger than them.

Ah ok I think I get your point. You were looking long term (over a number of seasons) whereas I was looking specifically at individual seasons. I would agree that for as long as Abramovich is at Chelsea, there is likely to be a team consistently competing to win the title with Man Utd. Both will have off seasons (in which one team will win by some distance) but ultimately I would expect the two to share titles between themselves (rather than the somewhat inevitable return of Man Utd to the top as we have had since the inception of the Premiership).

Still hate Chelsea though :angry: :lol:

Chelsea are a average london club and only where they are now because of a rich Russian but this seems to be beyond most of the Fans who seem to think that they are big club. If it wasn't for the russian they would be having it out with Reading for the last UEFA place. Add in the fact they have Terry, Lumpard and Drogba it is not difficult to see why people hate them.

And if it wasn't for a rich benefactor Reading would be having it out with Bristol City for a Lge 1 play off spot.

Change the f***ing record.

Last night's result was a football triumph. Just contrast the two clubs:

Benitez = Shrewd, dignified
Mourinho = Sulky, sour grapes merchant

Gerrard = Winner
Lampard = Loser

Kuyt = Penalty hero
Shevchenko = "In it for the money" big time Charlie

Carragher = Local hero
Terry = Greedy "9 year contract plus management clauses" kunt.

Liverpool fans = Quality supporters
Chelsea Fans = Where were you when you were shit?

Liverpool are a class act, Chelsea have no class whatsover.

I didn't mean the team, lots of people say he's good value for money. I don't agree but a fair few people do say it.
