With this being their 7th European Cup/Champions League Final, I'd say they're entitled to be banging on about their history. Do you think Albion fans would be any different after that amount of success? Or any other club's fans?

No I'm sure we or anyone else wouldn't be any different but that doesn't mean its a pleasure to listen to. That song is also the most annoying football song in the world. Except Bright eyes.

And I should Imagine started following them when they won a stupid amounts of league titles.

It happens to every team that wins things, just annoys me that people dislike Chelsea more for it for some reason.

Because they are not the accepted face of champions.

How long have Chelsea had their new money? 2003?

How many different teams won it between 1991 and 2003?

Just to answer my own question, to illustrate the point;

Between the 12 seasons 1992/3 to 2003/4, Man Utd won the title EIGHT times, Arsenal THREE times, and Blackburn once.

I fail to see how the current Premiership can be seen as less predictable than that?

Could the same not be aimed at Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool?

Yes - but it doesnt as much as Chelsea.

I mean Wenger is the biggest wanker in football at the moment.
and as for David Dein.....

The top four in the Premiership is now way more predictable.

And so are the FA Cup winners.

Which equates to Man Utd 2/3rds of the time, and AN other 1/3 of the time.

Since 2004/5, we have had Chelsea twice, and (probably) Man Utd once. So it's Chelsea 2/3rds of the time, and Man Utd 1/3 of the time.

Which makes it no more or less predictable (although based on a smaller sample size).

The early nineties (generally) saw United win the title at something of a canter. At least towards the end Arsenal (through good management incidentally, and NOT through having endless large sums of money pumped in) got themselves to something close to a level playing field with Man Utd. Chelsea in the last two years have won it at a canter. At least this years it's been vaguely interesting!

I hope that the next few years follow this year, in that there are at least two teams fighting for the title going into the last few games, rather than the last two years, where a team has won it with plenty of time to spare. That, I'm afraid, is as 'unpredictable' as we're ever likely to get.

I think Kinkys point is people hate Chelsea for reasons that could quite easily be applied to most of the top 4.

You've defeated your own argument, so far as I'm concerned. this season has been the closest title race in years, whereas previously United were winning it without breaking sweat.

Without Chelsea's recent emergence, it is very likely that United would have won 11 of the last 14 titles! That would make us as ridiculous a league as the SPL.

"mullethead Rooney"

Poor/10 for Les Biehn.

Yes, but it was a poor effort.

I don't have a problem with the "Yankee owner".

And United don't have "over-priced tickets".

So an owner who has gambled the clubs assests against his investment is a good thing?

They don't have over-priced tickets, this is true. Still have more arm chair supporters than any club going though.

How did United win it without breaking sweat when Arsenal won it 2 of the 3 years immeadiately before Chelsea won it?!?

I don't really see how I've defeated my own argument at all. Could you clarify?

Maybe - but that's not an extra reason to dislike United, is it?! :thud:

:lolol: I was just wondering when Wozza would stop debating and make either a sarcy comment or use the thud smilie.

Of course its a reason to dislike him. He is treating the passion of thousands of fans as a business with which to make money. Greed at the potential expense of others hopes and dreams.
