You didn't deserve to win the Cup that year. The first game was equal and Man U were far better and hammered you in the replay. And as I said the FA Cup is nothing, anyway, so so what?

We were cheated in Paris as every neutral admits.

Every neutral? Yep. Dirty Leeds only ended 2 of Bayern’s players careers that night. Definitely cheated you there.

Terry Yorath and Peter Lorimer were lucky not to be arrested for GBH.

Was a pretty poor game.. well, not poor perhaps but not exactly what most would have wished for. Finals are rarely very good though, too much at stake... betting companies probably got even richer tonight from all the "over x goals" bets..

Well-deserved for Bayern ofc, the best team in Europe this year by quite some margin.

Had Bayren to win, BTTS. But, as I repeatedly say on here, NEVER follow one of my bets :lolol:

If you remember the last time we played Bayern in a European Cup final we were cheated out of it by having a good goal disallowed and not getting a stonewall penalty.

When a fan of an opposing team who've spent the last 16 years in the Championship and League One pops up to remind you they were robbed in a game that took place before most of the users of the site were born :lolol:

The old Blubber Muncher is very needy isn’t he. Just made my morning. BTW, I suspect that ‘every neutral’ couldn’t give a shit.

I still had some affection for Leeds back then. But 'We' deserved to lose. 'We' were shit. Moreover the stories were beginning to emerge about all the attempts to bribe the opposition under Revie in the recent past. 'We' only got off the charges after the Wolves game because Derek Dougan (later to gain fame as a National Front supporter) claimed nobody in Leeds had attempted to bribe anyone. Sadly history shows Leeds were massive underachievers, partly beacuse their attitude stunk the place out. Flat track bullies. Chokers. Ludicrously arrogant and hated by everyone. Down to the manager mostly. I remember Emlyn Hughes' disgust with Review when Revie managed England (Revie was cock a hoop about getting a pay rise for England players, men who would have worn the three lions shirt for free, with pride. The absolute plum).

I still have happy innocent memories of the mighty Leeds of 69-72, when I was age 11-14. A schoolboy crush.

All that while I nevertheless supported my local team, but as a little teenage boy I was starstruck by the glamour of mighty Leeds. My home town team, who I watched, were a bit sad and division 3. Little hope and no expectation.

So, as a grown man (presumably) you mystify me. Do you think anyone on this board gives a tuppeny **** about what you think about a European cup final from 1he 1970s?

Please keep posting, though. It is endlessly amusing that a Leeds fan, and not a teenager, is so soaked in his own piss about Ben White he can't stay off our board.

I thought PSG were a little unlucky, which i am generally glad about. Easily had the better chances, and i felt Neuer, in spite of his hit and miss goalkickery, was man of the match. Pleased to see Neymar be largely anonymous and weep at the end, but Bayern were slick for just a few moments to have it all pay off.

The main reason I watched was to see Neymar cry. Alsmost made up for not being able to see Ronaldo cry.

Marvelous scenes.

When the Bundesliga resumed and it was clear that Bayern were a winning machine, at decent odds I bet on a CL win. Came good last night on Betfair, a £435 profit.

All told in my mini two months Betfair dabble, I doubled my £500. A PSG win would’ve seen me all square.

Well you had obviously lost your allegiance by 1973, so weren't around when we were cheated out of another European trophy the year after you stopped following us.
The Greek referee was found to have taken bribes and banned from refereeing for life after an investigation into the match. And Leeds are still popular in Greece to this day because the neutral Greeks were disgusted by the travesty of a match and the fact AC Milan cheated to win.

You ask why you think members of this board, who weren't even born in 1975, should care about the history of Leeds? I agree it is mystifying that a club which has been out of the big time for the best part of two decades should have such an interest to your fans, but from what I see this board is obsessed with us at the moment. I responded to a post om this thread about this year's Champions League Final asking "did Leeds win?" Threads about Leeds fill the top of the page day after day after day. It is a wonder to behold.

Maybe we are interesting? Have an eventful history? The fanbase is feisty? I don't know, I can't begin explain it, I don't have the same interest in Brighton. There seems to be a gap, though, a void to be filled by Leeds on this website (for the moment, I am sure it will soon pass) so I have just been responding to your need.

But enough is enough, thanks for your request that I continue, but life is too short to spend so much time on a message board, and this will be my last post for a while.

See you at the Amex if they are allowing crowds. by then.

Sayonara suckers!

Leeds are just an amusing interlude. Normal service with Palace will resume soon enough

My cunning plan worked.

But....Christ

That justification for being here is on a par with Chris Langhams explanation for downloading child porn.
