part of a previous interview with Obama at the BBC shown on the 6o'clock news this evening. The biggest disappointment of his Presidency is that he has not managed to bring in some sort of gun control. I didn't note the exact words, but he was in a quiet diplomatic Presidential way fairly scathing of the pro-gun lobby.

To be fair to him, he did try!

I thought a possible turning point in US gun culture would be after Sandy Hook in 2012 when 20 children were killed. A few States like New York, which already has some of the toughest gun controls, brought in further laws on background checks and assault rifles but other than that very little else changed. It made you realise that if this didn’t change things then nothing would.
