Really? So you are saying there are millions of highly intelligent people in this country who consume the equivalent of 5-10 bottles of wine a week, and they are all in splendid health.

Out of interest, where do you get your information from?

Not sure if they are in great health but for sure they do.

What like the Malheur 10 which comatosed you in Kulminator that night in Antwerp. At least we were still sober enough to climb the statues in the town square before being moved on by the local police.
Such behaviour tchh.

I was hardly comatose, I was able to return to the hotel via taxi.

Whilst smoking is in my opinion only for the clinically insane (unlike booze), it does not impair your mental faculties in the same way that drinking 10 bottles of wine a week does surely?

And a high level of intelligence has nothing to do with alcohol consumption btw.

Agreed, most people who have a drink problem don't realise that they are getting one until it is too late, as the reasons for excess drinking are usually do emotional/social reasons, rather than to do with intellect.

Ah, but if you are intelligent enough to know that smoking heavily is dangerous surely by extension you should realise that excessive booze is a problem too. My point being that heavy smokers have not really got so much to lose and therefore quite often combine the two.

Is dinner a late night kebab?

No it has to be frites with a frikandel and covered with mayonnaise and curry sauce. If that doesn't sort you out on the way home, nothing will HT.

From your previous comments I'm assuming you're teetotal. What makes you think you're qualified to assess what "normal" drinking behaviour is when you yourself are a completely abnormal part of the scale, you just happen to be at the other end of it

I'm not completely teetotal, but not far from it. But do spend a lot of time in pubs & clubs for music rated reasons and had a relative who owned a pub who a helped for periods of time.
So its not an alien environment for me, but find it incredible people are consuming such vast quantities.
I'm just as staggered that people have such a disposal income to fund it when it could be spent to better affect.

As I outlined in an earlier post, many of the teetotalers in the original research have since been found to be chronic/heavy drinkers at some stage which triggered their abstinence, giving a flawed conclusion.

Non of my business granted, but its unusual within your social environment that you have restricted your own consumption quite significantly and then show some surprise at some of the greater consumption by some.
