As long as the rice goes from hot to cold (so chuck in it the fridge straight away), there is no chance for the bacteria to multiply. Same prinicipal for anything really.

I love a reheated leftover curry including the rice in a pitta bread the following day

I couldn't agree more with this. Last nights Chicken Tikka Pathia, garlic naan and pilau rice cold out of the fridge for breakfast is one of my favourite things of all time!

My uncle used to order a KFC mega bucket for dinner and then finish it for breakfast.

He died of a heart attack at a young age but that's beside the point.
