8 million to get us promoted? Can't see how thats NOT worth it. Also i never gave a figure of price, dont know where you have seen i said 8million. Also, how many has CMS scored at this level compared to Austin? i would alsp say that austins possibly has fewer games

If were going to spend 8mil might as well go for a big man like Lambert, Zamora or Holt/Murray.

So you think it will be less than 8 million ?.......

If Gus had 8 million to spend Im pretty sure he would get 3 or 4 players in for that.

If were going to spend big on 1 palyer I would rather Danny Graham from Swansea who is not getting a game anymore, probably get him for 5 millionmaybe less and is well honed in our style of play, who also has scored goals in the Prem.

I dont see why not, they were interested at the start of the season and he has scored a decent tally, and I believe his general play is much improved on last year.

He will go in Jan in my opinion, I bloody Love CMS

We need to find a hidden talent Gus needs to look further a field ...we need to find the next Michu that guy was 2mil and looks to be worth 10 times that!

A michu who will take 10 grand a week...... not going to happen is it...

Really missing Mr Vicente now :-(

I think CMS will be off, not worked out as Gus planned. We might gt 3 million for him but where does this leave us , even worse off unless GP can pull off a master stroke and get Charlie Austin.

If we can't get a player like Austin, Lambert (type player) then stick with CMS and player with 2 bloody strikers up top.

never said it would be 8million or less, lets face it not one of us on here will know how much his price would be. Theirs plenty of other strikers for cheaper that would do the job for sure

Austin is actually bigger than you think (6ft 2/3) but i agree mate, if thats what it would cost for Austin, we'd do better off getting someone else in

This is roughly what I was thinking. I think we might be better off selling CMS and at least making some money back. I hnestly think Dobbie and Hoskins can be a good pairing if played consistently.

Can people stop going on about pairings, we dont play 2 strikers its as simple as that.

If were going to play 2 up front keep CMS for gods sake and give the lad a chance !

Been saying for years ever since charlie was at Swindon we should try and buy him, he is a great little player, Him and CMS up front would be a great partnership. how much would you pay for him ?

Is he for sale?

Fair point but I meant Dobbie in the hole. CMS doesn't work as a lone striker. Think that's the point.

Big gamble as totally unproven at the highest level

£8-10m isn't a "big gamble" for a Premiership side though is it? The prize they are chasing is another year of £50m+ Sky money, so when it's a player who can score goals, goals that would be the difference between Prem money or parachute money, then it's NOT a Big Gamble at all IMHO.

I expect him to be playing for Villa or QPR by the end of January.

I just want to see Hoskins get a few games on the trot. Maybe he isn't good enough, I don't know but he can't be worse than CMS and Barnes for hitting the target can he ?
I met someone on Saturday who actually believed CMS was going to score with that one on one at Palace. Did make make me laugh that.

Lambert and Mackie are the two strikers Poyet has been waiting to become available. If Harry brings in his own firm in Jan that may open the way for a move for Mackie .

Mackie has netted in past two games and he is his sort of player, I cant see him leaving till end of season
