Can Dwayne still read the board?

How come he can log into the chat room when he can't log onto the forums?

Good question.

I think it has been established that the Chat Room is a free for all as I noticed lots of "of NSP" log-ins so muggins here believed you had to use your own log-in name.

Think someone needs to check out this loop-hole.

Not one of Dwayne's finest hours albeit they seem fewer and fewer at present anyway.

'Someone' ....... has obviously found out how to bump people out of the chatroom, as 'he' was constantly doing to people in there today.

Sociologists and psychologists would have a field day with the immature pratt - who-ever that pratt might be.

The smell of suspicion as who that spoiled twerp might be - perhaps some wanker peeved at being 'jilted' - is as pungent as ammonia.

I imagine 'someone' doesn't intend to try getting in anyone's good books, or getting back on NSC (if that 'person' has been a certain jilted rubber-johnny).

Pretty pathetic really.

Some of his acidic threads can be a tad amusing, but his problem does seem to be that he won't back down and admit when he's got it wrong. And we're all wrong from time to time, even Dwayne.

MAYBE it's time for a little humility?

We all know at least one kid who was in our school (for those of us who've long since left school) who had to be the centre of attention so they continually made up stories about the things they'd done, were going to do, etc., etc. You just know that they're destined to go through life doing what they've always done-winding everybody up with their bullshit stories and never knowing when to stop and grow up and leave the bullshit behind.

Remind you of anybody?

It is possible to upgrade the chatroom to that it utilises your NSC login and password to log into it, ie if you don't have an NSC login - you don't get into the chatroom.

This is something we have been intending to do but not got round to it. Also I wanted to see how popular, or otherwise, the chatroom was proving to be.

So - is the chatroom worth spending the money on, or should we leave it as it is?

How many people were in the chatroom yesterday?

The chatroom has been popular (can't answer for yesterday) but there are one or two users who are very childish scrolling the script up very quickly by posting rubbish so it can prove difficult to actually 'chat'

I would agree with upgrading it to having a password

Yesterday was my first time in the chatroom and it was very busy, at least 30 people I'd say at all times.

Unfortunately however, the second half was totally trashed by 'someone' which totally wrecked the enjoyment for most people. Antics included bumping people out of the room, flooding of the room, using other people's usernames and a continuation of the personal insults against Brighton Bird.

As a result I would thoroughly recommend making it registration-only. We could always have a whip-round at the meet-up if that would help.

As it happens, someone on NSC (I'll keep it anonymous unless they want to come forward) did make a contribution a while back to cover the chat room upgrade, so cost is not really an issue. It's more whether the money would be well spent.

Early indications are it would be worthwhile.

In addition to utilising NSC logins, the 'paid for' version permits the chat room to be customised quite extensively.

He works in an investment bank that is true. Same one as me...

Dwayne is a good fella. Met him in Bournemouth recently and he's a top bloke who likes a laff.

I agree. He isn't like this in real life.

He seems to be different when he is hiding behind his phone or pc.

Absolutely, but the problem is he is completely different behind his phone/pc. It's not like a little change, he fully deserved to be banned.

Why can't Dwayne just be flamed like in the old days of NSC? There were some REAL monsters on the board then. Banning someone who's acting like an arse or is 'a bit annoying' is petty-minded and not what NSC used to be about. Used to be a load of mentally-disturbed people on here and there's still one or two. The day I find anything in common with Looney or FG or ArseBlockErnie is the day I top myself - but til then i'll either ignore or switch the 'Ignore' button on. Why not just ENGAGE the freaks and make them look more stoopid than they already are? Banning is the soft option and just makes NSC look like the Official Site or - worse! - Always Skint. Or does the 'N' in NSC stand for 'Nanny'?

I don't think anyone favours banning people for the views they express or the opinions that they hold.

Targeting individual NSC users with evil bile is another matter altogether. As is deliberately sabotaging the Chat Room to prevent it from functioning properly.

It would be a shame to restrict access to the Chat Room to registered NSC Users, but that will obviously be necessary if we get any repeats of yesterday's stupidity.

The last thing we need inundating NSC is a wanker spamming and talking shite all over the show, only drowned out by everyone else telling them what pratts they are and 'engaging' freaks. If you want to engage freaks then ok, find a site where they proliferate unfettered by moderation.
NSC is a football chat-site, already has a fair amount of o/t threads (fair enough), and we don't need to go sifting through endless bullshit to find football .....then find that is contaminated by some idiot bigging himself up or starting controversy .

Remember people complaining of threads getting 'dwayned' ?
That tells you enough - so now dwayne has been 'moderated' .

 :ban:
