Calderon - Contract Extension

Much has been written here and elsewhere that players no longer have loyalty to any club; their only loyalty now is to the loot. Quite true. But with all "rules" there are exceptions....and this is one of them.

Calde has displayed loyalty to the club and is a great ambassador and thoroughly deserves an extension. In fact, I would like to see the club guarantee him a "job for life" (whether that be in coaching, AITC or whatever).

In Calde we have a golden nugget and it would be a travesty if the club ignored his passion, commitment and loyalty and failed to give him at least one more year.

I entirely agree with this. I'm not at all in favour of banners to get people the sack. But I'd certainly support a banner helping to keep Caldi at the Club. And although I've always avoided emailing PB with petty stuff as he has enough on his plate, I'd certainly send him one to register my disapproval if they don't extend.
