Get rid of McNulty, sign Painter.

Yes please.

It's very odd the way opinion on NSC changes so radically. Ask a few months ago and most people would be raving about McNulty, now it seems most aren't bothered if he stays or goes. He played poorly this year but probably didn't get long enough to regain match fitness. Painter is better though!

I think the talk of him moving is a bit premature. Will Scunny meet our valuation ? I doubt it.

We have now got a much better left back in Painter though, NSC hasn't turned against him we just are not so bothered now as he has already been well replaced.

Yeah all relative isnt it. Given the dearth of left backs we've had in recent years to have someone like him was great, but after injuries etc Painter soon came in and upped the standard once more.

If this is true I'll be sad, really like the guy and his determination to keep coming back but sadly Painter's the better option.

I want to no why he wants to leave? He's going to play 2nd fiddle at Scunthorpe aswell cos they already have a LB! What's happened here to make him want away? As he surely must feel he owes us a season at least after that shocking injury he got even if we have Painter or not.

Gus has said his ideal squad would have 2 players for every position. I would love Jimmy Mac to stay as cover for Painter. He never got a chance to regain his previous form so I think there's still more to come from him.

He might want to make it permanent (don't all loan players say the same sort of thing) but can they afford him?

I would agree with that but would point out that recently in an interview Gus said he wanted players who wanted to play for us and were prepared to fight for their place not ones that were going to go running into his office demandinga loan as soon as they are not picked for the starting XI.

I would assume he was refering to McNulty and Tunnicliffe

Fair point. Players have got to be up for it.
