Right... I've managed to sort my son's out. I was flummoxed by the fact that he didn't have a login of his own (why would he at his age?!), or an email address to send his password reminder to (same again) despite having a fan number. But I tried his Gully's Gang login details, successfully logged into his account and managed to add myself. It does strike me as a little daft that a pre-school child technically has to add their own parent before they can have tickets bought for them!
The initial confusion came from his little sister's account not working, as it appears she's not 'web enabled', so I'll have to sort that out before she's old enough to realise where me and her brother are off to.
Presumably those 50 loyalty points are of absolutely no use to him unless he's going to go with an adult who has got some too?
