Many, many thanks to all three of these Brighton stars. Top fellas and top players who gave a great deal to the club.

PS The '08 Calendar strikes again - May's Man of the Month is........Guy Butters. Coxy is Mr June - better keep your head down Dean.

All these were honoured in their generations, and were the glory of their times. There be of them, that have left a name behind them, that their praises might be reported. Eccelsiasticus 44:7-8

Here endeth the lesson.

All three have been great servants, Thanx Guy, Kez and OGH, will certainly be keeping an eye out for them whenver they end up, still think we should have kept Guy, our loss is someone elses gain, All the Best

Thanks for everything to all of you, you've all been great servants to this club, and I think pretty much every Albion fan will be sorry to see you go.

Guy I met at the sponsors dinner last season, thoroughly nice bloke and a great leader on the pitch as well. Kerry has been so solid for so many years, and scored a few vital ones too, like the winner against Derby in the pouring rain a few years back (I think we can let him off that one in the Hereford game now). Harty, never gave anything less than 100% for the club, another great bloke and here's hoping we can give him the send-off he deserves at his Testimonial.

I have to say that I'm sorry to see these stalwarts being released. All three have been tremendous servants of the club.

Living abroad I haven't been able to watch many games over the past three seasons, but what I saw of The Big Man this year convinces me he still has a place in professional football. So long as he can hack the rigours of training and doesn't get too bored by it, I'm sure there are a few clubs in the two lower divisions who would find him an asset to their playing squad.

Guy, Gary and Kerry take a bow. Thank you all for playing in the blue and white stripes so magnificently! Every best wish for your futures.

A sad day.

Probably good football decisions, but I'd hoped that Kerry in particular and OGH would be there at the start at Falmer.

Hopefully the club will bring a lot of players back for the opening game, so that we can give them the respect they deserve

Kerry & OGH were two of the bright spots for that miserable time in Gillingham; and since he's been here Guy has contributed massively - the equaliser at Leeds always does it for me.

Many thanks comrades........

I'm sure he will come on here and post something when get gets the chance.

He's known for some days now that he was being released as he started his Level 3 coaching course in Cheltenham today for the next 2 weeks, so he had to be told before the others and was asked too keep it quiet.

Luckily though the phone has been ringing so he's got quite a few options open to him.

Sad to see the old boy go but good to hear that there are options open to him.

Probably one of the best tributes to him came from Tommy ELphick at the weekend when he spoke about his player of the season award. He said "Guy Butters, ... is absolutely priceless to play with. You learn so much from him. What he has taught me this year is just incredible"

If that doesn't give him confidence going into his Level 3 course this week then nothing will.

Good luck for the future and thanks for everything.
