A sad day to see these three leave the club.

Hope they all play in OGH's testimonial so that we can say a proper farewell.

Great servants to the club one and all.

Said before, but

A big thanks to OGH and Kerry of course, and an even BIGGER thanks to Guy - who has helped bring through two of the finest young centrebacks in the division. Joel Lynch and Tommy Elphick are Guys legacy at the club. They would not have progressed and flourished to the players they have become without the steady influence and guidance of the Big Guy next to them.

Good work fella

Oh Gary Hart played for The Albion
He wore the stripes with Heart
Kerry was our stalwart too
from The Goldstone at his start
We love the Guy who ends it here
A 'Quadraphenic' playing career
So to you 3 GREATS I'll say
you may sign off but don't go away

I'm sure he will come on here and post something when get gets the chance.

He's known for some days now that he was being released as he started his Level 3 coaching course in Cheltenham today for the next 2 weeks, so he had to be told before the others and was asked too keep it quiet.

Luckily though the phone has been ringing so he's got quite a few options open to him.

Not surprising. He'll be in football again soon. :albion2:

Good luck in the whatever the future holds for you Guy... and thanks for all your efforts with The Albion - and the occasional late-night titter on NSC too :)

Good to hear. Maybe he'll end up at the Albion as a coach some time in the future

Thank you legends: winners, heroes and - from what I can deduce - bloody good human beings too.
All the best boys in the next stages of your careers.

The end of an era. :( And a bloody good era it was too. All three players helped us punch WELL above our weight for the best part of a decade. The TWO TITLES and another play-off promotion were lovely to see. :clap2:

A poem for Guy.

There is a man called Guy Butters,
He makes young girls behave like nutters,

He's signed my boobs and made me swoon,
I have his framed photo in my room,

On my calendar, he's Mr. May,
But my fantasies, terminate today,

From now on when I attend a game,
It never will be quite the same,

I never went for sporting qualities,
I only go to oggle the fitties,

I'll miss you Guy - and always will,
You'll leave a place Dean will never fill.

many thanks fellas. im genuinly quite sad to see these players leave, for all the times they dug a little deeper. especially Hart, given a chance and grabbed on for many years.

... an even BIGGER thanks to Guy - who has helped bring through two of the finest young centrebacks in the division. Joel Lynch and Tommy Elphick are Guys legacy at the club. They would not have progressed and flourished to the players they have become without the steady influence and guidance of the Big Guy next to them.

i do hope he's coming back in a coaching role.

and an honorable mention for Reid, who always looked quality when fit and playing.

That's excellent news Race. Just hope we see Butters again at Withdean to say our thanks. He has been a star for us. Also as I have said on another post I hope you keep in touch with us here on NSC. You have "brightoned" many a day for me with your comments. Be a shame to say goodbye to you as well.

From the way that Guy said farewell to me and Lord B on Saturday, I was expecting today's news but I'm no less sad for all that. All three are absolute LEGENDS and I wish them the very best for the future.

But I couldn't let them go without a spot of photographic evidence...
